Naming time limit?

So, on the day you can save your name for classic you create your character quickly and with no real thought to what it looks like. You just want to make sure you get YOUR names. Later, you want to redo them. You delete the character. How long do you have to create it and name it without someone being able to sniper your name?

That make sense?

There isnt anyone out there thats going to be spending every waking hour on the character creation screen constantly pressing create character for your name waiting for it to become available.
Just reserve your names, then late at night just delete them and create them again the way you want them to look.
If your name ends up getting taken within those 2 minutes then that is ridiculously unlucky

You can always stop being cliche’ and make up your own original names that no one else will think of. Strange concept I know.

yeah but if we do that, we get names with double vowels and double consonants where there shouldnt be

If the servers are using the modern client rules (and there’s no reason to think they’re not) the name is locked to your account for a small period of time.

I didn’t even know that was a feature! Awesome.

Enjoy inviting Léègölâhs to your group.

It’s more than just a “small” period of time.

I let my character sit deleted for 3 days and I still couldn’t create one with the same name on a different account.

Hey! where is the source for that? As far as I have seen, it is only locked with the character. If you delete the character, anyone can take it again. Thats my guess.

As far as I know, names are reserved for your account for some time once the deleted character has reached a certain level. I don’t think that rule is applicable to level 1 characters.

You can also plan the look of your character now and write down the settings.
