So what’s the deal with nameplates? I feel like any changes I make they are just reset when i play again.
On top of that I feel like it’s fairly challenging for me to get an easy look of what’s going on. I wish I could make my target among mobs for visible.

What’s the deal with airplane food? And what’s the deal with the black box? If it’s indestructible, why don’t they just make the whole plane out of the black box?!
Everything is still broken. I have tried Platynator, Threatplates, and Betterblizzplates. Nothing is working correctly. And yes, they are all constantly resetting. Because all of them are working around the default plate settings, some items can’t be customized correctly. So you still have to setup your default plates and then work around them with addons. But the addons are broken. I’m not blaming the devs building the addons by any means. I think they were handed a broken API and are now trying to pick up the pieces.
Blizzard needs to ease off on some of the restrictions they put into place to allow plates to function as they did. The target animation when you swap between targets is nauseating. I have tried every suggestion here to disable it and have had no luck.
Threatplates has the best functionality for what you’re asking for, but it’s not working half the time for me. Plates disappearing. Health not updating. Auras not working.
Incredibly frustrating they had to break something so key and central to our experience in the game.
Add to the list of things that weren’t broken but got fixed anyway in order to satisfy a team’s budget.

If your plates are resetting after a game crash its because you need to either log or reload your ui for it to save to the server. If its doing it after a normal log thats a bug on blizzards end. We’ve had a couple since the midnight pre event launched. It’ll get fixed eventually.
I’d also recommend enabling stacking nameplates for enemies. It’ll lift nameplates so none overlap which will make targeting and seeing which ones your target a little easier.

Yeah, it’s all personal preference. It’s why I’m glad there’s different options for people.

It should be broken but if you enjoy exploiting games to get an unfair advantage, I hope your “achievements” in the video game mean a lot to you 
just keep resetting the nameplates, good news is, resetting nameplates is accountwide not just character wide
I get the feeling some people will call me pretentious, but I’ve only ever used four. Maybe five add-ons at Max. Some of these people complaining about the add-ons being removed. We’re using over 50 add-ons. They were no longer playing World of Warcraft, they were playing a world of add-on craft. Were they allowed the developers of add-ons to take the place of the developers of the games.
Meaning they were letting the mods fix the game instead of expecting the actual creators of the game to patch their own damn game.
So maybe instead of asking for an add-on, you can demand that blizzard actually do the job that you’re paying them to do and fix the game so that the information displayed is relevant for the largest population possible. We can’t cater to the overly vocal minority, but we can definitely cater to the majority of players. And what you’re asking for is something that the majority of players have been asking for, for a very long time.
So instead of looking for an add-on, come to the forums and complain about the fact that blizzard isn’t doing their job and making this more reasonable and accessible.
You’re paying three times to play this game. You’re paying your real life time to get the money at your job so that you can pay for this game. And then you have to spend that money to pay the play this game. And then you have to play this game thus spending more of your time to play the game. You are paying for World of Warcraft three times, and instead of holding the people that make the game accountable, you are holding random add-on developers accountable to fix the problems that should have never been there in the first place.
So what’s maybe get a thread on here about holding blizzard accountable for actually fixing their own damn game instead of expecting the add-on developers to do it for them.
Can we not hold them to a higher standard of expectation than we do? Bethesda? Do we want an expansion every 15 years? Or every couple of years?

Changing the visuals and layout so that we can see things better and play with disabilities is not “addon craft.”
Blizzard has failed every single time they try to implement UI changes from addons. Every. Single. Time. There is nothing that Blizz has implemented from an addon that has been better than what the addon can do.
Nameplate addons do not play the game for anyone. They’re to help with visuals. Because the base nameplates suck for that.
OP didn’t ask for an addon. He asked for help with an issue he was having with the crappy base game nameplates— and people were giving advice to get an addon that actually saves things correctly and is visually better.

But no, Blizzard has never been capable of making a base UI change in this game that’s been better than an addon. Especially for those with vision issues or disabilities.
I’d like to see you attempt some challenging content without addons that exploit the game for you
