Nameplate CVars are resetting on reload/relog

Noticed this specifically with nameplates stacking/overlapping - where I pick stacking and upon reload or relog, they revert back to overlapping.

Even manually updating config-cache with SET nameplatemotion “1” is not working, and checking the config file after loading the game shows that it reverted back with no nameplatemotion parameter.

This has been consistent with other nameplate cvars, though I am not sure if it applies to all cvars.

I have done all the basic troubleshooting - delete WTF/Interface/Cache/Virtual Store and any addon managers, ran the game in administrator, set all Cvars to default via console command to no avail.

I have this exact same issue ever since the patch dropped yesterday. I have also done the same troubleshooting.

Is there a script to set nameplates to stacking so could macro it till there is a fix ?

I’ve had this same issue, but llo through the last xpac. Yes, I use Threat plates but they USED to correctly stack, now they overlap. ALWAYS. It’s like the UI setting is always ignored.

a temporary fix if you are using weak auras: AdvancedNameplatesConfig on wago

Yeah put this in your macro or paste in addon.bool.no without the /run

/run SetCVar("nameplateMotion", 1)

I heard Blizzard QA is already aware of the cvar issue

I’m so glad I found this thread! This issue is driving me crazy.

I’ve tried all the troubleshooting stated above but nothing works.

I hope they fix it soon cuz playing a dot class on overlapping nameplates is pretty lame.
