Nameplate colors are now a nightmare for colorblinds

Hi,
I’m deutan colorblind (red/green), and looking at enemy players nameplate is now very confusing. Missing health now shows as grey, instead of black. For me it’s nearly impossible to differentiate current health and missing health from paladins and evokers. Dk as well are hard to see for me. Additionally, nameplate colors seem to be more greyish when targeted. Paladins look grey to me and have the same color as someone who disconnected. I have a friend who isn’t colorblind and he finds the grey missing health very annoying as well. I got suggested to use an addon like plater but I really dislikes those addons, I like how the base nameplates look. I looked everywhere in the game options and can’t find anything related to this issue. Is there a command/script that can fix the colors to how it was, because this is a really big deal for someone who does pvp…

Yeah, not sure why blizz felt such a need to change the nameplates.

I recommend that you submit this feedback via the in-game form. It’s unlikely to be seen on the forums, and it’s an important issue.

I thought the nameplates seemed different, but I had not identified why. I suspect any changes to nameplates are because of the widespread use of Plater. I also don’t use it, but basically every article/video recommending add-ons “everyone should have” includes it. It might as well be part of the WoW Starter Kit at this point. Since a large number of players prefer it, they could be taking steps to make it less necessary.

Hmm… never heard of it. I wonder if I have to start using it because blizz screwed up their own originally fine nameplates…
