Name the most flawed
/ broken class, that either needs the most work and or the most tunning or just needs to be fixed in general. I’ll go first, I pick warlock. They’ve completely changed from what they used to be and they feel disjointed. I also feel their animations are cheesy.
Death Knights.
Monks; they still haven’t recovered from the Mists of Pandaria announcement trailer.
No one knows what its like …to be a death knight!
To be the a dead Elf…
Behind blue eyes!
Evoker.
/10
Prior to the new 10.1.5 builds I’d have said Mage, but now it’s Warlock.
They have absolutely no idea what the identity of Demo is. When it’s good and the players are happy, they randomly change it. Then it takes like 2-3 major patches to get it back to a place people like, then they change it again. They’re literally doing it right now with 10.1.5
Affliction is just a mess. Multiple spells that do the same thing, insane bloat, incredibly weak CDs, and a core spell that virtually every Warlock I’ve spoken with dislikes.
Then there’s destro. It has the perception of being good but that’s just because it’s easy and powerful. It’s as “one-button” as BM. The kit has been funneled into Chaos Bolt (or RoF for AOE). When you’re not pressing Chaos Bolt, you’re over capping on shards.
Spriest got reworked. Mage is getting a good overhaul. Warlock is surely next, right?
Mechagnomes
I would say vengence DH. Most of its mechanics and intended design work against each other. Its tree is a mess. It has a single uncapped target ability and its a talent. The only reason it works right now is because of its four set.
So much hope coming into DF and I would love to just go back to season 4 of SL’s.
Havoc has what should be multiple specs rolled into talent choices and the player base hates it. I can’t think of a time I have ever despised Havoc more than essence break mixed with momentum. I just want the old eyebeam build back as do many.
The correct answer is mage. The weakest of all casters by far and the hardest to play. There’s a reason why you see 10 warlocks for every one mage.
Death knights are the most flawed class. It is simply a fact. There is no argument
Others might mention a spec or two, but DK feels like a shell of other classes. It had its unique gameplay mechanic of runes and presences completely gutted
Frost has been dealing with an identity crisis since the end of wod.
Blood is hard for healers to play with due to the spikyness of their healthpool
Unholy is a alright spec, however it is often gear reliant on items such as the al’gethar trinket and unholy is the HARDest spec in the game to learn. Imagine a crap ton of keybinds, diseases, pet control, and a different spender for AOE and St ( epidemic and death coil)
From a class design standpoint, affliction doesn’t even work anymore. A DoT spec has been outdated for over a decade, nevermind the introduction to M+
Most of the fun stuff druids have is pvp only
For OPness? Always will say Paladin. No matter the expansion. They feel scary to be around. Ghostcrawler was right to dislike them.
For needing fixing? Gosh….Demonology was never the same after they annihilated and pruned it in WoD. Not even sure what I’m looking at at this point.
Mage is just…not fun anymore. It’s sad really…
Rogue I enjoy but feels more suited for PvP. The specs are kind of fun but I wish it had more dynamic versatility and movements to give it the fantasy we saw like in the cinematic of forsaken rogues trying to kill Thrall. Remember Death from above as a regular spender? Yeah it was pretty heavy camera movement but it made me love my rogue.
It’s hard to name the most flawed class when overall class design is so horrible in DF. I generally play casters, but the mantra at Blizz seems to be reduce mobility, increase ramp up time. As a casual, that makes it almost impossible to find a class that is actually fun and does decent damage. Even melee classes are full of annoying maintenance buffs like slice and dice, for example.
Somewhere along the line, Blizzard forgot that classes need to be fun to play. Yes, entirely subjective, but while I think the actual content in DF is pretty solid, I just found myself not finding any class I actually enjoyed, so logging in less and less, until I finally canceled. Took a 4 year break before taking a risk on buying DF and coming back, but looks like it might be a final goodbye unless their class design concept changes.
Another vote for monk.
Except the problem the monk needs fixing is community perception.
Oh, and single target for ww, and the fact that it is probably one of the buggiest classes in the game.
I don’t think there’s any class where the entire class is seriously flawed or broken.
Just wanted to say I personally love destro locks cast animations. Of all the specs in the game this is the one that I wish I could play the most because I love everything from lore, transmogs, artifacts and spell animations. I just can’t play it well at all.
Paladins, particularly ret. They spend most of thier time dead on the floor.
I think Arms Warrior has some pretty deep flaws. It used to be THE zug zug smash melee build. Big Mortal Strikes with integrated fill abilities. Now it’s anything but that. Juggling bleeds and 15 cooldowns in your aoe spec, or the single target build where you’re either mashing Overpower into MS on CD while maintaining bleeds, biding time for your CS rage spend burst window, or literally just hitting Execute as much as possible in the execute phase.
For something that should feel like a hulking juggernaut, you feel like a maintenance worker trying to keep all your valves balanced.
Hunter. Needs better pet AI, some kind of group aura, lust off having to have ferocity pet, needs better spell effects and animations. The only bow class in the game needs a rework. Requires many macros.
