Can we get more name clear/refreshes on unplayed characters?
Currently all 5 variations of the name I want on the server are held by sub level 45, even inactive armories than don’t pull any info. I’ve logged on both sides of the faction and spammed gold offers if anyone even knew the person with that name. No dice.
With all this player identity added into the game. It would be really cool if you could get your name (or at least close to the name you prefer). Level one alts or unplayed accounts just taking names is pretty lame.
Its getting to the point where nearly every decent name is taken, I’m using the randomizer and I don’t even know how to pronounce the names it gives me lol
Examples:
Blynnaomila
Pamelselyn
Fanaimagny
These don’t even look like names, they look like secure passwords lol

I know it’s not ideal, but you could always try using a special character like I had to for my name.

Yeah its a pain cause the only vowel is the the 2nd letter in a 3 letter name so inviting sucks for other people. Other letters don’t really have alt codes either =/

An active sub protects your alt names.

They have more protection than that. If they had an active sub in the past 4 years they’re protected.

Yeah I get that. I feel like that’s pretty lame. If you never use that character, it’s not an alt. Its just a name reservation. These character haven’t been touched in years or were never touched at all.
Or just give the ability to have last names so names can be reused with out confusion.

In gw2 all my characters have the same last name, like they’re from the same family (all humans though).

I have names reserved because I like them and I might use them. You just have to be more creative. Look in world mythologies, the bible, literature, movies, etc…

It would be, would also be great for RP realms I hate having to make weird variations of normal names. 
Special characters are gross and only make it harder for players to PM/mail you.
I recommend looking up variants of names/terms from different languages. You’d be surprised at what you’d find.

Oh gosh!! I haven’t played Boggle in ages.
You can only do so much with that though… because everyone else will use those things as well.

Especially on the bigger servers. Trying to find a name you like on Moon Guard (for example) is a nightmare.
I would love this. It’s how FFXIV handles it so it makes it far easier to get the name you want.

Yup, I tried to get a certain name on Moon-Guard. I tried ALL variations of it but they were all taken, ended up having to use a certain variation plus one special letter.
