I purchased a digital version of WoW Forever, how/when do I get to reserve my character name? Anyone know?
It says on Oct 27 name reservation and character creation opens up.
They’ll announce the time. You make sure you are at your computer at said time and you make your character. Then when the game goes live on Nov 4 you can log in.
If I recall last time you only got to create 1 character.
That said we have 2 names now. A first name and a last name. So it doesn’t really matter. You’ll get your chosen name

Purely speculation on my part, but I imagine your first name will need to be unique and your surname will just be something displayed like a title with no bearing on anything.
You can disable/hide your surname. Which I assume means it can’t matter for game mechanics like sending whispers or invites.
But obviously I’m just guessing and don’t know how it will work for sure.
I believe the surname is the unique name from the streams I watched at blizzcon
That would seem like a wierd way to go about it since many people will want to have alts that share a family surname.
Guess we’ll find out in a few days
I imagine some family members (e.g. husband/wife) might want the same surname as well.
I have to assume they are unique as a pair - because having a gazillian people on a single realm with effectively a single name is going to be nasty.
