With the launch of The War Within Blizzard has decided that stuns will no longer stop spell casting and will cause mobs to just restart their cast once unstunned. This causes interrupts to be more important than ever before, while also seemingly adding more casts. Even simple casts being deadly if they just target the same player. I have no problem with this design.
With that stated, I main a range class (the very character I’m posting this on) and no matter the changes i make with Plater, console commands, Weakauras or other addons, at some point there are pulls where the nameplates overlap and clump at the top of my screen if I’m at any decent range without moving my camera down and not being able to actually watch where my character is standing properly. I alt 2 tanks and this is almost never an issue for those characters, I’m sure at a pull size large enough it would be but this only really affects my warlock since I need to be able to see my dots so i need at least some spread between the nameplates and I’m often far out in range.
My suggestion is to do something similar they did with edit mode but for nameplates, making them more modern and “smart”, have them if hitting the top of the screen spread out to side so you can still see casts and be able to interrupt more easily. I like hard content, I just don’t want the difficulty of that content being partly due to the UI working against me. I would suggest a boss bar style system for whatever you’re in combat with but from my research this was a thing in WoD and they purposely broke it and I hear FF14 has something similar when talking with other players.
Anyway I couldn’t find an area on the Forums to post a suggestion like this but i don’t have a lot of experience here so I’m just gonna drop it here in General Discussion and maybe someone can tell me why my idea would suck or why Blizzard wouldn’t do this.
