Name Plate Issue that is Driving Me NUTZ!

I have a toon on the hardcore realm Defiled Pillager. He is a Druid named EwwDruid. I downloaded an addon because I wanted to make the nameplates on things I was going after a little smaller, but instead, well, the addon sucked. I deleted it.

Now, on this toon, anything I fight now has no nameplate. I have tried everything I can think of to resolve this.

  1. I tried to reset all the options to default
  2. I went in and changed everything I could think of
  3. I tried logging in on another toon and it’s nameplates are perfectly fine so I tried to match toon for toon using a video I took
  4. I deleted Classic
  5. I deleted Classic and Wrath
  6. I deleted every trace I could find of WoW from my game that I could find and reinstalled. AND I mean EVERYTHING!

The toon is still the same. I’m losing my mind now.

How, after deleting everything can it still be the same? How? I’m not having this issue on any other toon. Just this one. All I want is it back to the way it was before I downloaded any apps. I’m at the point of just deleting him and starting over.

Please and Thank You!

Have you tried this?

This is probably a stupid comment, but since you didn’t actually mention it in the list of things you were doing, did you actually press the hotkey to toggle them on and off?

Also, I think CVars might be backed up server side as well so it’s possible the addon changed one? Maybe try installing plater or something just to see if it changes something back and then uninstall the addon.

You could also try typing /console cvar_default

Not sure if that’s outdated or not as I don’t want to test it myself since I don’t want to do that.

press < shift > V and see if that helps… or at least i think it’s shift. it toggles enemy nameplates. V toggles friendlies.

hope that helps.

This assuming you have default keybinds.

Press the “V” Key.

This turns on enemy name plates

Reset all key bindings then you use your key commands to type in for the show friends and show enemies.
