Name one thing you miss or want in wow!

Just name something. I will go first

I want old stats back and changed. I miss wanting defense on gear and building your char your way and felt the power form one piece. I don’t want hit or exp.

I miss old lore concepts that were once core or perpetuated within the WoW universe.
:face_with_diagonal_mouth: Shadowlands ruined a lot of them for myself & many others.

What I want for lore is:

  • For them to confirm souls are actually indestructible – but merely reduced to a flickering spark amongst the stygia & anima that once gave that spark form …
  • Then reveal Ve’nari is now the most prominent soul-trader having gained INNUMEROUS souls thanks to her time in the maw combined with the Jailor’s actions of funneling souls there & multitudes of adventurers oh-so-generously giving her stygia containing these dormant sparks – and thus resulting her in now holding the largest collection of souls that the cosmos has ever seen, since the Legion …
  • Reveal that the souls can be restored with enough vastness of power and thus both the value they can hold may be tremendous — Ve’nari, is now esteemed amongst all cosmic forces: Ultimately wanting to seize particular souls that were valuable to their cause, to further their grand goals.

… Buuut I’d settle for some class quests each expansion, I suppose :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

For the full story to be told in game. Screw the books.

That is an Activision thing. They did that for Halo too.

I miss arena teams, old guild UI and all the cool RPG elements of this game. The class quests and class lore. No more RPG to retail WoW.

For the race, an upright posture option.

For the class, to make the voidwalker an effective tank again.

I already miss the Ratt’s Revenge quests. It took me to places I had forgotten, and made me look in places I didn’t even know about. It forced me to pay attention to more details in the game, and I loved that. I learned about more secrets in the game that have not yet been solved, and the clues to the next Ratt’s Revenge puzzle already have me chomping at the bit. I joined the Secrets Discord because of it! I have so many theories now, and I’m excited.

I thought I would hate the Pet Battle part, but the guides online made that step very simple.

The Dalaran farewell made me realize how much I missed class fantasy. Being a mage and doing mage stuff with mages.

Felt good.

Just generally speaking professions having perks. Nowadays the only one that still does is engineering, which is why I switched to it.

However, this one takes priority. Worth at least two raid tiers.

As for what I want back? The way mage played in classic, BC and WotLK. Not the weird unrecognizable mess it is today.

I briefly got that mage back in 2022 and it was great… only to lose it again.

I miss class halls and class and/or race quests.

I’d like playable Saberon.

I want smarter and more realistic NPCs. AI should make this easier. They should react with fear to being attacked. Remember in Bastion how stewards would scream and try to run away, or snitch to a guard when threatened? That’s how a shopkeeper should react when their town or city is under attack, or if they spot a Rogue slinking around. Except they should just run and hide, not run away and vanish. It makes sense that they all wouldn’t be universally brave. A lot of NPCs die defiantly when it doesn’t make sense. If you kill an enemy that they ran from, they should /cheer or /thank you.

NPCs should respond to things like pickpocketing. Either with anger or crying, and either way they should gain a paranoia buff that gives them heightened perception that makes stealth less effective near them for a minute or two. Same if you polymorph a guard. The guard talking to them should become alert and more aware, not just continue chatting with the sheep.

Also, if you’ve done quests to help an NPC in the past, they should smile and wave when you pass by, or eye you suspiciously if you’ve crossed them somehow.

NPC chat could also be more dynamic and less looped than it currently is.
