Is it the chance for loot at the end?
Is it filling out your vault?
Do you like pressing interrupt 3 times a pack?
Do you have fun doing the same dungeons over and over with scaling difficulty?
Is it outside factors like playing with friends and talking crap during the key?
Genuinely beyond the rewards I would never play this game mode as it offers nothing of interest to me. Just wondering why people like it.
The thing I like about M+ is that it made me cancel my sub

I enjoy M+ because I enjoy healing challenging small group content quite a bit. It’s a different healing experience compared to Raid, because in Raid you are healing as part of a team of healers, whereas in a 5-person group you are basically responsible for everyone.
The things I dislike about M+ really have nothing to do with healing.
I dislike when the primary victory criteria becomes how well you can dance instead of how well you can perform your role.
I dislike the timer which creates a cascade of social issues that add stress and create a toxic environment due to conflicting goals. Stuff like chain-pulling trash until I’m out of mana and then dragging the last half-dead trash mob into the boss instead of letting me drink. I know that they aren’t doing it because they hate me… it’s because the timer has made them completely obsessed with trying to shave every second off the run - even when it causes a wipe and delays the run by minutes… God forbid the group wants to get a food buff after a wipe, etc. One of your group members has a delivery driver at the front door? Maybe their baby started crying? Maybe one of their dogs started barking and they want to check it out? Sorry your key just got bricked.

It’s giving people who have obviously more toxic personalities a way to congregate together and make each other miserable while leaving the rest of us alone.

i like the challenge of getting better.
i like that the content has a score system that allows me to set a goal and push for it.
gearing is a bonus.
with so many groups really struggling, at least in my experience, when it comes together, it can be quite fun.
it is also content that helps me work on real life issues like learning not to take things personally, or learning how to deal with frustration. stuff like that.
there are lots of downsides in this season, but the main chasis is still there. the question for me is there enough reward to make the frustration worthwhile.
to be honest, not sure there is right now.
Nothing, getting bullied by random persons I will never know just because I dont do what they say when they say is not fun.

I agree progression is fundamental to any good system in a game. Like for mythic raiding the satisfaction is being able to progress through fights, see further in, improve player ability, learning mechanics. But it’s all only good the first time through.
For m+ you’re doing the same thing over and over and over again. I just don’t see how that’s enjoyable.
I enjoy the challenge of pushing keys while getting geared in the process. A big part is discovering dungeon nuances and improving ways to make the run smoother the next time.
Your stance is confusing because you are contradicting yourself. Raiders are doing the same thing over and over again. It’s the same static fights without affixes so in actuality there is more redundance with raids.

Just like how we play WoW in the past. Do dungeons over and over. Past Dungeons are obsoletely easy. Dungeons evolved into Mythic +. Same thing, we do it over and over.
This is not a faceroll game that you keep on doing. Soloing old Raids is facerolling. What’s the fun on that? Even my 10 year old nephew could do that. Learn2play with the Big boys.
It’s challenging content that doesn’t require an uninterrupted multiple hours of scheduled time a week to engage with. Me and the gang can hop on, do a key, take a break, do another, do multiple, take a break, come back, change days we group up at a whim etc.
As opposed to Raid which asks for multiple hours on often multiple nights a week of time that are for the most part not felxible to do the most challenging content, not to mention the logistics required by group size and comp.(not talking about pugging of course) Just doesnt fit my lifestyle anymore.

Exactly.
Sorry you people had bad experiences with M+ and hate it. It’s a video game, there’s no dynamic aspect of it except you changing your class/spec. If you find the mode toxic or don’t like feeling stressed they’ve created plenty of content that you can go enjoy.

I like that I can steadily strengthen my character at my own pace with reasonable challenges and rewards.
yes and no.
for me, puglife brings a very varied experience. especially in this season. you really don’t know ahead of time if you are going to even complete the thing, never mind time it.
my bear has done all the dungeons on +3. I have yet to even complete a 4. tried three or four times. they all fell apart for different reasons, and of course I can’t tell you why a guy i have never talked to in my life just ditches a group without saying anything. or what that lock really meant when he said “this healer” before he left.
I am at the point where the frustration and fun are pretty equal. not a good balance. my bear is at the point where he overgears +4s but has that is where he needs to run. given my +4 experience. I am not sure I want to try tanking anymore, at least for a while.
so I dusted off my warlock and got him to 80.
maybe I will just run delves and BGs for a while. maybe its really time to dust off my hunter. or my druid can heal BGs. or I will just run delves and lfr and let that be my content.
my guild is small and i don’t have a dedicated night to play m+ so I can’t really be in a dedicated group to try to push. all i aim for is 2k. so maybe I will just slog it through in the bear., dunno.
I told you what I like in general about m+. not actually digging it much at the moment. which is its own frustration because I am now feeling fairly comfortable with the content. the group dynamics feel like the choke point at the moment.
There’s a difference between your first kill of a boss and farm. Farm isn’t engaging for anyone, unless you’re selling carries or really want the mount or something. The first kill is a group wide progression and learning experience. It can def be frustrating when 1-2 people are repeatedly making the same mistakes, but any good guild will see that and have them either get good or quit. There is also only 1 difficulty of mythic raid. You learn the fight and it gets easier over time with gear and now the new stacking raid buff.
I enjoy 5 man content because unlike raids, I feel like I engage more with others. We can sit on discord and shoot the breeze, laugh and joke, and be social. It is a nice break from the more rigid atmosphere of a raid.
Yes, the vault is the motivator. Not sure I’d run them without that incentive. Otherwise, I’d raid log and play another game that is also a social outlet.
However, this season sucks as the only reason I do them is for vault. The social aspect of it is not there due to the rigidity of the content. Have to hyper focus as much as mythic raiding requires. Makes me sad.
This is not Raid vs Mythic+. Both are games that we are doing over and over.
The OP hasnt done decent Raids. Wants to do M+ but kept on failing.
pressing buttons and the “friendly” competition dpsers have all along
i dont know how tanks/healers manage to enjoy it without the “competition” part. it’s 50% of the fun for me heh
