Name one song

That brings you to tears, whenever you hear it and why…or not if it’s too much.

I’ll go first:

Tracy Chapman, Fast Car.
It describes my life 100% since I was diagnosed, 13 y ears ago. My life came to a halt, and now there’s days that I feel I’m just living with no purpose or point and I just want to get in my BMW and run away.

That bad, huh? lol

there’s a wow adjacent youtube artist named sharm who also does covers of songs. she’s my favorite vocalist, and there’s a few songs she’s covered that she’s posted on her patreon/unlisted on youtube that are emotionally significant to me like “wicked game” and “the heart wants what it wants” and “linger” which has had me in tears/listening to them 39487593485 times, because of relationships from years and years ago. i can’t post any of them for obvious reasons but even if you just look her up on youtube you’ll see why her voice touches me the way it does.

Linger always was one of those songs, and it’s sad that Deloris is gone, too.

dolores is also one of my favorite vocalists of all time. “linger” being probably my favorite of hers other than “animal instinct” and “dreams.” plus some stuff from her solo stuff that no one but me has ever heard of. lmbo.

Perfect by Ed Sheeran.

Reminds me of the relationship I have with my partner and reminds me why we are still together.

was debating posting something actually relevant to my current life… and heck it.

this song reminds me of my wife more so than any other song.

edit: and this one was when we were going through the inevitable rough patches every long term relationship goes through.

I can’t help choking up at this gem. Thanks Jack.

it use to be moonlight sonata by beethoven or mad world by gary jules before I developed schizophrenia and now my emotions are blunted and I can’t cry or really feel much of anything without it spiraling out of control

No such song exists

I know like anyone, that Tears for Fears wrote and performed it; but as far as I’m concerned, Gary Jules wrote and sang it. He gave it a touch that no one else could.

I can see how this gets tears going. From what I knew of my both father and step-father’s that were in Vietnam, I can’t imagine what they went through.

It’s the same for me… Different war though. Yet one that ended up being no less pointless and tragic for all involved than Nam was. I’m sure that can be said about the vast majority of them though, right? Especially lately.

My dad was a huge Journey fan and had their songs playing at his funeral. :slightly_frowning_face:

Take my upvote, dangit. lol

Journey is one of the bands I listened to a lot growing up in the 80’s. 12 years ago, the first date with my ex was Open Arms. Steve Perry’s voice is just angelic.
