I just got a name changed but now my char has both nicknames.
My ui shows the new name, if I target myself (or anyone target me) it shows the old name.
If anyone tries to invite me it says ‘character does not exist’
people have to /invite ‘newname’ so I can join groups

I realm/character changed forever ago (over a year) and now my chat is showing my old name/server but my character is showing my actual toon name. It doesn’t even look like im online in my guild, but am in the guild chat showing the wrong toon name and server.
I also have this issue on one of my characters.
I just purchased a race change on Friday evening and my toon is having the same issue. Most of the time, my character pane shows my new name, but my unit frames show my old name. The tooltip on mouseover also (sometimes) shows my new name. If I talk in /say, it uses whatever my character pane seems to have. The character selection screen also has my new name.
I reset my UI completely, which fixed it for a short time but a logout sends me back into the split personality chaos lol.
I can’t even post here as my character, as none of my retail toons are showing via ‘Change Character’ for some reason.
