Purchased a name change for my character in WOTLK Classic. My name on my character unit frame and at the character selection screen is now the new name, BUT my name on the tooltip, in chat, and on my character inspect tab are the old name. People cannot invite me to their dungeons. Please help
Same. Mine even got fixed to working again now it’s returned to not working once again and same issue as you.
read another thread where it took 3 days to go back to normal! still havent seen a response from blizz about it tho, no surprise
Same problem. No responses from blizzard. Character is unplayable because I can’t get into groups because of this.
Delete your cache. Happened to me during pre-patch and that fixed it. Everyone else sees you as your new name.
I had this issue as well but in addition it was spamming all my guild members with "The player “[CHARACTERNAME]” could be found. I ended up gquitting to stop spamming everyone. It resolved itself after the weekly server maintenance

Same thing is happening to me after a name change. People still see me as my original name, but no one can message me because it says player not found. Very frustrating, I feel as if I am going to miss out on a lot of group content. Blizzard please help.
