The ToS question:
I had reached out to someone on here a few months back because they were selling a name that would have been a great Christmas gift for a friend, but didnā€™t include a price for it. We add each other on discord, I ask how much the name would cost me, and they give me two options: a million gold, or couple dozen US dollars via paypal. I decline.
Now, in the past week, someoneā€™s made a post here offering US dollars to buy a name.
Is selling/buying names a service? Do you think they would qualify as ā€œin-game assetsā€? Would this be going against the ToS if so? Let me know what you all think about all of this.

Selling anything that is a part of WoW, such as a name, gear, pet, etc , for RL money is a bannable offense and can very likely get both parties frozen for RMT (real money trading). I think it was very smart to decline.
Stuff that is not actually a part of the game (yet) such as the physical trading cards with codes is fine, because its not yet inside of WoW. It is a physical product still.
A good way to remember is, if its inside the game and you dont actually own it (Because anything inside the game Blizzard technically owns and can delete at a moments notice whether you like it or not) is not something you should be paying someone real money for, unless that person is Blizzard, since they own it.
