Lots of people that roleplay have a constant flow of character ideas and names are a part of that. Kudos to those that realize that there is not enough time to make that dream live so pass on the name for someone else to use.

If someone is asking for a trade that includes a gold amount and you don’t agree with that? Fine. You don’t know their purpose in doing so nor do I.
But I’m sure you know what they say about assuming.
You obviously don’t believe the name/names have that sort of value.
But some people do.

I love that people do this. If I wanted the name John on Moonguard and no one did this, it would have been taken years ago and I’d never have the chance at the name John. Since people do this I now have the chance at the name someday if someone sells it. Someone selling it to me is still better than NEVER having the opportunity to have a toon named John. And if you don’t think names have value, you simply don’t buy them and who cares?

ive expressed it before but the prices over 200k are for names i know hold some sort of worth and value in general, but also some of them specifically to me. they’re also negotiable. i recently moved to moonguard and because i can’t afford to realm change every single toon from my old server, i plan on alting a bunch of freshies on mg in df. 95% of the names on the list i have plans for if they dont end up selling–the other 5% are names my friends picked up and ended up not using. i also am in school and the gold helps me pay for my subscription.
not that any of this is really any of your business and i feel like my prices are honestly pretty fair everything considered, but here i am. i truly hope you enjoy dragonflight and wow in general and by all means please don’t let me ruin your experience.

I’ve been at this hobby a long time. Your prices are exceedingly fair. I thought about picking up some of yours because some of your names were so great but I had trouble coming up with characters on that whim, so I decided against it.
Don’t let someone with a bad attitude get ya down.

bro I mostly trade names rather than just sell them, and I started the emoji things so don’t flame people for picking up on a fun trend. Stop clogging the thread. 
Furthermore, I encourage everyone else to just ignore these folks coming in here to complain, they’ve done it on the WRA name thread too. It’s just disruptive at this point.

I have no sale-worthy names for sale. I’m just a buyer… and glad for the option, because the only other option is “hope this person doesn’t log on during a free weekend for 2 entire expansions.”
It’s not the greatest, but it’s what we have.

I can understand why people might be upset by the concept, but some people genuinely also just take names so other people can’t have them. They sit on them for years, never using them. I’d rather help a person turn a profit and both of us get something in return.

Hey all I have a bunch of names to sell for gold on Hyjal if anyone plays on that realm. I tried posting in the Hyjal forums/trade chat and all I get is laughed at, so I figured id try here.

That will never happen. You’re scolding us because we’re visible. There are far more people that hoard names and never trade them, never sell them, never delete them and never play them. Hell, they might not even play on Moon Guard. They might have created a level 1 to check out Goldshire, happened to get a good name, then held on to it “just in case”. This person stays subbed so that rare name will never see the light of day.
That’s just one example. You’re blaming the handful of people in this thread for hoarding names but the reality is there are millions of people that play WoW and with MG being such a high pop server, there are thousands holding onto names “just in case.” The majority of those people don’t post in these threads.
I don’t know about anyone else but it doesn’t bother me in the slightest. Who are you? I dunno, so why should I care?

I don’t think they’re a troll, I think they’re someone that either wants a name one of us have or they can’t get the name they always wanted and is lashing out in these threads.
