I noticed that when Galeon, Sha of Fear and Oondasta spawns, their health doesn’t go down for 2 or 3 seconds at the beginning of the fight. This is a cool feature since it gives us time to tag it to get the kill. However, Nalak and Ruhkmar doesn’t behave like that and most of the time gets insta-killed before we have time to react. It would be cool to implement the feature on those 2 bosses also!
This would be a very good feature.
They also had a feature where for a while if you were in a party with someone, if they tagged Nalak then you would also share that tag. That disappeared, but I believe it came back with 8.1.5.
I will try again with Nalak on my army this week and let you know, as I’m pretty sure it worked for me on a low pop server, but I will double check a high pop server and see if it works there.
Concur. I missed 2 Nalak kills today because it dies so quickly now.
This is a problem that’s only gotten worse in the past few months. By the next expansion they’re just going to be one-shot like Houlon.
It’s not even that bad. Just wait 15 minutes for them to respawn.
Huolon still won’t give me that mount… I’ve been farming him endlessly since TI first went live. I have friends that have gotten two or three. He hates me. QQ
Also: I agree with this. Any rare that can drop a mount should have those few seconds for everyone to tag them.
I spam a target/cast attack macro whenever I camp these guys. It won’t 100% fix the issue, but it gives me a LOT better chance at getting the hit in before they’re nuked.
I farmed Houlon for a while and I will say, most of the time, the mount farmers that were there were pretty courteous. They all took off their armor and made sure they hit like ants. It seemed it was always at night where you’d have the 1 shot nuke people spazzing a raid rotation at full power whenever he showed up.
Nalak still needs more health.
i agree they need the antikill buff so everyone can tag.
Bumping this because it’s still an issue to this day… 4kills i’ve missed because somebody thinks they need to nuke rather then just tag.
This type of thing, along with changes to dungeons and raids to make them solo friendly are just the types of things that should happen by default as soon as an expansion’s over.
Nalak and Huolon should definitely have that feature added to them. I just got Solar Spirehawk after 1500 attempts, and I don’t think that’s necessary if you’re following the mechanics. If nobody’s paying attention when he spawns, somebody will pull him down somewhere on his figure 8 path and solo him.
At least one player needs to be on the platform above and one below to make this strat work. Everybody involved needs to be using a target macro that is keybound.
/tar Rukhmar
/cast my instant ranged spell
After he appears at the top you have one GCD to tag him. He will drop directly down below, where the people waiting in range can be spamming their target macros. Then people kill him, which takes several seconds. If there’s nobody waiting down there and you jump (but don’t die, possible if you have disengage or some other ability), you can solo him.
If you are the only player there and no one tags him at the top, instead of going directly down, he will fly off, pause over that pointy rock, then head for the bridge. The bridge is the easiest place to solo him.
This is still a major problem for Rukhmar. I don’t understand why MoP WB’s are not an issue but for this one Draenor world boss it is. people are one shooting and they are not taking off their gear as someone else mentioned in this thread. anyone recommend a hunter macro for this ??? please advise and thank you for your time.
Just casting another voice that will be ignored into the void.
Still an issue. I know I’m not a programmer, but I can’t imagine copying the system for almost all other world bosses over to 1-2 more would take more time than a good yawn.
Wish you could tag devs on the forums. lol
With Rukhmar there are people that can stand up above on the building near where it spawns and start damaging it before it goes below. It does have the damage mitigation, the problem is it’s already being hit
