Nakhu Khan STILL Seeks Guild

…for long walks in Alterac Valley, sipping wine out of gnome skulls and eating medium rare Talbuk steaks cooked over the flames of Teldrassil.

Faction: Horde. I have played Alliance (my first toon was Alliance, in fact) but I can’t seem to stay blue-side no matter how nice many of those big butt Alliance are.

Time Zone: EST

PvP: High Priority. I tend to PvP quite a bit, having got the itch back in vanilla when I spent most of my hours rank grinding across a few servers with my guild. It would be nice to have some folks to group with for randoms and Warmode shennanigans. A guild that does rated bgs would be ideal and some laidback arenas could also be nice. I’m not looking for hardcore PvP, as I did it in Vanilla, rank grinding multiple toons on a few servers with my old guild and as an adult I don’t have that kind of time/single mindedness anymore

PvE: I don’t PvE that often, but getting into casual mythics could be nice. I haven’t raided seriously since Wrath (which, lets face it, was pretty ez-mode) and while I’ll never be hardcore or lead the dps meters like a pro, I am willing to chip in and help in a pinch.

Old Content: I enjoy running old content and would be willing to run it frequently for mogs, mounts and what have you.

RP: I am more of a light rp’er. I enjoy rp (have played DnD in most of its forms, as well as Warhammer RPG and Harnmaster) and have an extensive background for ol’ Nakhu here, but I dislike roll events and I tend to spend most of my in game time playing rather than roleplaying. If I were to choose an rp guild, I’d prefer a warband type group, as it fits best with my toon’s back story, I think.

About Me:
– I’m 50 years old and a father of 5…that I know of…every Father’s Day I get nervous when the doorbell rings :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

–I have played WoW since vanilla, where I started out as a dwarf warrior on Lightninghoof. I also played on VeCo and Twisting Nether, doing the rank grind on each server.

– Besides Wow, I’m an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan (BOOMER SOONER), I enjoy medieval history and Ren faires, as well as working out and playing basketball when my decrepit knees allow it

– I’m a lawyer (please don’t hold it against me  ) and adjunct college instructor. I also do some volunteer work with civil rights organizations and coach youth football. Also have a side hustle as a CPT and I’m getting my Strength and Conditioning coach and Sports Nutrition certs, so my game time can be random at times, but I play fairly regularly as WoW is my main free time activity.

– I don’t like drama, especially in my gaming time as life is dramatic enough and a couple of my children are bi-racial so I definitely don’t mesh well with bigotry or attempts at humor that so much as borders on bigotry. The Constitution protects everyone’s freedom of speech, but I choose to exercise my right not to listen to what I consider ignorance.

Thanks for your time.

I’ve noticed you looking for guilds for a fair old while now Nakhu. As someone who had the same experience trying to find a guild that fit what I was looking for in game (and frankly the timezone in which people could play) creating my own guild really revolutionised the whole deal for me. I’ve had some of the best experiences of my wow career in the guild that I founded/built.

So if you keep having trouble finding a home… I recommend building one and inviting others in! It seems like a lot of hard work but to be honest I’ve found that the gameplay aspect especially more or less runs itself!

This makes me very curious to what other people’s professions are that roleplay, maybe I should make a thread asking people about it.

I have a couple ex-wives that would disagree :stuck_out_tongue:

Howdy Nakhu.

I’m a former Okie (though I haven’t kept up with the Sooners in a long while), and I also come from the more mature WoW crowd, being a father myself to boot. I can’t offer you much personally in the way of a guild, as mine consists solely of others from our age, familial, and business demographics, rendering it only a casually active environment amongst a handful of longstanding friends. But we do seem to share enough affinities regarding the ways we spend our WoW time, from PvP (former Vanilla Rank 10 grinder here who still enjoys persistent albeit casual engagement with BGs and Arenas), to old content for mogs and such, mutual tabletop RP backgrounds with a preference for free form over roll events, and lastly a clear inclination toward Orcs based on our mains and some of the stories I’ve seen you post on the forums.

I wish you luck in your guild hunt, but regardless of how that fares you are more than welcome to reach out to me next time you’re on in game if you’d like to kick around any of the aforementioned facets of the game. I’m usually on doing battlegrounds or 2s with my brother, kicking up some casual RP or progressing old stories with friends, or farming mog stuff for an alt. Aka’magosh!

I am just finishing up a nasty bout of unemployeement, which is a profession that works for most of my characters. I start training next week for a new job, but I don’t see Kina selling supplimental insurance anytime soon.

Sell life insurance to people you defeat in battle. The implication can be that you’re disincentivized to kill them if they have life insurance with you, cause then you’ll have to pay their next of kin!

You know, I’ve had you on my btag since Cata (or was it Mists?) and I think I’ve learned about you more from this thread than any previous conversation lmao.

I’ve tried, and failed, once before …

You know where to find us. I think I may have a pair of blue trousers big enough for your butt.

Hi Nakhu!

The Grim offers PVP, PVE, and RP, for members to pick and choose which areas of the game they want to focus on.

For PVP, we have a Rated Battleground night, and a casual PVP night, as well as occasional contests and other events like city invasions and roaming bands of wPVPers. We’re currently finishing up a Scalp Hunt - a guildwide contest to see who can get the most world PVP kills.

For PVE, we have raid nights two nights a week, if you’re ever interested in that. We usually have various groups of Mythic+ dungeons on the weekends, usually low to mid level keys. And we occasionally do old content for achievements and transmogs.

For RP, we claim to be heavy RP, but what that means to us is that we are experiencing most of the game content as our characters. Guild chat is IC, and we expect members to always be IC in /say and /yell. We have a separate OOC channel in game, and voicechat is always OOC.

New members are assigned a couple IC Trials, but after that, some of our members are very light RPers, and some others get very involved in RP storylines. We may have a dice roll event here and there as we plan for upcoming storylines, but they are few and far between.

OOC, we are made up of a lot of older adults, with families and jobs, so we understand real life comes first. We also don’t have much patience for drama and are experienced enough to recognize early signs of it, so we nearly always manage to nip it in the bud on the rare occasions we do have any. We do have a growing younger population in the guild too, to keep things fresh!

If that sounds interesting at all, of if you’d like to chat, our website is www.thegrim.org and our Discord is https://discord.gg/wGxxy6H

For the person interested in players’ actual professions, I’m a software consultant who, when that business is slow, occasionally fills in as an elementary school sub.

I looked things over and I was actually in The Grim for a VERY short period of time before I took a hiatus from he game for real life reasons.

My post is still on your forums from way back then, so should I apply as a brand new member or as a returning member?

Thanks.

I thought your name sounded familiar!

You can bump that post, or just write an IC letter to us, or just pop into our Discord and we’ll get you sorted out. Or find me in game as Syreenna or Lirsha. Whichever is easiest!

The post is locked, so I can’t bump it, so I’ll look for you online and drop you an in game letter if I can’t find you. Thanks.
