the time I get to any of them after spawn, they are usually already dead. They should be more difficult to kill than that.

Agreed. It seems blizzard massively underestimated player DPS. It looks like the buffed the HP of rares in Mechagon and Nazjatar today but these commanders still seem like a joke.
