As I’m sure any fan of M+ who mains a warrior is acutely aware, getting into someone else’s group is an uphill battle at best. Once I broke the 1k io mark I started relying almost exclusively on forming my own groups and pushing my own key. This of course requires you to have a good handle on what each of the classes brings and what a group needs.
So I ask you fellow warriors, when building a group what do you aim to bring? What classes/specs do you generally refuse to bring since you usually already fill the ‘low utility’ spot? Favorite tanks/healers, and is it because they’re just generally the best right now or do you find they pair well with your strengths and weaknesses?
This is written from the perspective, and mostly seeks feedback from, dps warriors, but I’m certainly interested in the opinion of any warriors making their own M+ groups.
Agreed. Part of the problem pugging meta comps is a lot of Rogues, DHs and mages are bad. Like really bad. They heard it was really good and rolled one kind of bad.
DH much less so. They seem to be apparently so mindless most get the same results out of them. Most
I usually end up running my higher keys with guildies because they’re the only ones that I can really trust to stick around if things mess up and we can’t make the timer.
Had way too many experiences where I’m running a 13 or higher and either the healer bails because the tank ‘sucks’ or the other way around where the tank bails because the healer ‘sucks’.
My personal preferences are: monk/shaman healer, BM hunter, DH/Rogue, Ret, Ele/Boomie. I mix and match, but I like to use 2 ranged and 1 melee if possible.
I may be biased cause my alt is a hunter, but they have good utility and are very easy to play. So I go for hunter and go depending on affix. Rogue/monk/DH if melee favorable or mage/elemental for ranged magic. SP can be useful also depending on the dungeon.
I wonder if Unholy will see play in non-MDI keys this season because of the way it’s damage scales with the number of targets and the way reaping works
