You want to know what should’ve been included in your 9.1.5 “oh crap, we can finally do what we should’ve done from the very start of this expansion”? Removing the stupid limitation for mythic+ rating to each character and reinstate the account wide aspect. Raider IO at least had it better in that regard.
That’s not saying much, though. The entire concept is really, honestly a failure altogether. It doesn’t help measure anyone’s competence, and it only serves to constrain people from getting into groups. I literally just got told “You haven’t even done a 10 yet, F#$k off” by someone in game for app’ing to a 10 on my protection paladin alt with a 225 item level–while this shaman has an 1875 M+ rating.
Quality game.

People still use raider.io. Just link your account.

I don’t want to use either. Honestly, at this point, I’d prefer them just bring back the vanilla way of dungeon group finding where you get in randomly and deal with the idiots you’re given. It’s better than getting some moron with a high rating only to find out he/she never ran in the spec (i.e. tank/heals) and they leave because they blame the rest of the group for not being able to anticipate their idiotic behavior.

You see the recurring theme, did you?
that your problem wont be solved with either of your solutions?

Man. that sounds like a nightmare. No thanks.
Mythic + dungeons aren’t the same as mythic dugneons and below.
That sounds like some real Mythic 9 stuff there.
That THE problem won’t be solved. It’s not just my problem; and you can say it is all you like. Every competent WoW player has dealt with the Azralon’s of the group-finder pool.
There’s an inescapable mob of really dumb players who drag down the rest of the community because they rely on poorly designed systems to do their thinking for them.
Eh. Before this season most players in the 14-15 bracket were pretty solid. I think they’ve pushed up a bit higher this season because it’s easier.
The players in 17’s right now are pretty universally good.

I’ll be bent if I can get into any of those groups. That’s my point though–both RIO and blizz’s version create exclusion zones where you can get stuck because of an arbitrary number.
Anyone reading this could be snarky and say it’s because I’m a scrub, when in reality I didn’t ride the first-week-wave of getting KSM in season 2. So, now I have to bob and weave my way through an ocean of tardigans trying to claw my way up to that bracket with the rest of the competent players.

RIO and M+ score never claimed to measure skill or competence. It is an objective measure of experience which can correlate to competence to a degree. Pugging keys without M+ score or RIO would be like shooting at a moving target with the lights off. It’s good to know that the person you are inviting has experience running keys around what they are applying for.

How come all your best runs are from two months ago? Genuine question…
If everyone treated them the way you just described, 90% of the problem would disappear overnight. The problem is most bad players don’t. They treat RIO and rating like the definition of what competence is. I’ve been in groups that literally run back to back fresh keys, +3 every one all the way up to 15. I’ve been in groups with all 1800+ players where the other dps did miserable damage, the tank didn’t know routes and pulled like they were competing in MDI, and the healer kept spamming a single spell until they were oom.
My point is that I don’t disagree with your assessment at all; and the fact that you’re able to make it serves to prove you’re not one of the many.

Can’t imagine why you don’t have a full friends list of folks who match your epicness to play with.

Because I paused my shaman to swap to my monk for raids. We were having healing/composition issues and already had two other shamans in the guild. That’s why I was saying in the OP that I wish they’d remove the per-character aspect, AT LEAST. Then, I wouldn’t have to worry about trying to maintain multiple ratings just to keep pace.
Yeah but anybody with a raider.io mod can see your other characters IO. I take people into 16’s/17’s all the time because their off character has a good raider.io score.

Every single one of my friends knows that I’m elitist when it comes to this game. They also know that when they invite me for a dungeon or raid, they’re going to get a competent player who doesn’t fub mechanics and can pull his weight.
