Mythic Raid shouldn't be nerfed after RWF

It’s incredibly disappointing that Blizzard caters to casuals by nerfing Mythic Raid following RWF. Three separate guilds PROVED that all bosses were kill-able in sub-optimal gear, and immediately following this Blizzard nerfs several bosses, with additional nerfs guaranteed later on in the season.

There’s no reason to nerf something that is so obviously kill-able by skilled players. I don’t see why Blizzard believes the Mythic Raid should be cleared by amateur guilds.

The best gear and achievements should exclusively belong to the best players.

idt its sunday anymore unless you’re PST

Blizzard should
A) host the RWF themselves, including the prize money for it.
B) have it on tournament realms where they can make necessary adjustments without affecting the progression of other players.

Yes, because if professional gamers who meet in-person, led by non-playing raid leaders who shot call from streamed screens after their professional team spending tens of thousands of dollars in consumables & crafting can do it… surely anyone can.

What an absolute clown take.

While I agree that it shouldn’t be nerfed this early in the release (nor do I see it having any impact on me one way or the other, haven’t done current raid content since BFA), and knowing this is a clear clickbait troll post (well done, you got me), I don’t think that the mythic level should be exclusive to professional players who are backed by sponsors.

I don’t think they’re going to nerf it as much as past mythic raids, because starting next week, the raid-wide Severed Strands “soft nerf” goes into effect. Topping out at 18% extra dmg/healing to the entire raid is going to nerf the content on its own, plus the additional gear gains week by week.

Is the RWF over? Or does it end at some point? Latest update I saw was on October 2nd when the top 4 teams had killed the final boss, team Liquid, Echo, Method and a Chinese team. It shows six more teams that have finished the Silken Court and were working on the last boss with the Chinese Team Hugo leading with the boss down to 6.7%.

Do those other teams keep trying or at some point is the raid nurfed to the point where it’s not worth keeping track of who finished the raid?

there is still 100 hall of fame. I won’t be estalking some posters’ guild to see if they were ever in that though.

Get off the soapbox

Ok, but where do we draw the line?
Do we stop nerfing immediately, OR do we even stop nerfing during the race where we take a data from watching what those skilled players do and see that the bosses are insanely overtuned and idiotic or straight up unkilable even by those super skilled players. What is the limit?

RWF turned into this pay to win cash grab clown fiesta that is seriously harming the game for the 99% of players that are sane and not making wow they livelyhood. It was supercool when method first did it…what it became is just…some bosses are literaly unkillable for two, three weeks. And all the stuff that these 2-3 guilds do to be first is getting realy cringe. Also the race itself…whos excited to see the same two guild compete for the title for the past like 10 or more years with close to zero competition because nobody else can afford it?..

Honestly as someone currently progressing kyveza I’m disappointed by the severity of the nerds they did, but they painted themselves into a corner making the first 4 bosses complete pushovers. There was no mid tier boss for guilds to progress whilst they acquired ilvl that would soften the difficulty of later bosses, so instead we all ended up smashing into ovinax roughly 4-5 ilvls early.

I was fully ready for this raid to just be left relatively as is, and have the increased ilvl / stacking buff coming soon be the nerfs, but then bliz messed up the pacing and Rasha’nan was a single digit pull boss.

I would love it if bliz got the pacing right and we didn’t need to nerf bosses as much and just let the ilvl do the work, but for that to work we need way better pacing than nerub ar palace.

Yeah, They really need to work on the difficulty curve of the raid, both Palace and Amirdrassil missed pretty hard.

Amirdrassil’s early pacing with palace’s late boss pacing would have been great. Sikran should have been the last “early boss” and should have been an actual gear check to keep non split guilds out of the second half before reset, Rasha’nan should have been the first boss, and Ulgrax replaced with something a bit more mechanically deep in 3rd.

Having so many guilds be 4/8 week 1, then immediately smash against bosses that hadn’t even really been killed yet was terrible and resulted in knee jerk nerfs just to keep people from being stuck at multi week walls.

Kyveza right now, at 624~ ilvl even with the nerfs is a great fight for non RWF guilds. Genuinely awesome. But it’s also a fight that’s heavily nerfed by ilvl and probably going to fall over with a bit more gear.

So Rasha’nan->bloodbound->buffed Skiran-> new more mechanical boss, Broodtwister/Ky’vezza with slightly nefed DPS/HPS checks->Court->Queen?

Swap new boss and buffed sikran.

Sikran is a patchwork / DPS check boss. It exists to say “You must be this tall to enter the next half of the raid”. Should be the last thing in the outer section and should have only been killable by the best of the best non split raiding guilds week 1.

Basically Terros.

I could get behind that.

And this is not to say that Ulgarax is a bad 1st boss, but the raid didn’t need 4 1st bosses.

Exactly this.

We had ovinax to about 15% before they knocked it’s legs from under it the following week, it woulda died. Kyveza’s RWF tuning was ludicrously tight but the boss is heavily nerfed by ilvl due to being both a DPS and stam / EHP check.

If people had just gotten to these bosses maybe a week later we wouldn’t have been in this position.

Even with guilds curving into it better, I think they should have more aggressively killed 1 tanking kyveza, and for slightly nerfed numbers checks on Broodtwister/Kyvezz I mean like 3-5%.

Pointless event followed by pointless whining.

Sounds like the wow community to me.
