Hopefully won’t get too much more nerfs as we already will get more gear and the damage buff will keep ramping up as I don’t want queen to turn into a jailer 2.0 . The half-end of the raid so far on mythic has been very enjoyable but I’m still disappointed that the 4 first bosses were as much under-tuned even early on.
So mythic is now 1/3 of what it was originaliy plus people have 2x the stats.
Stop nerfing everything into oblivion. ESPECIALLY since we currently have a stacking raid nerf adding up every 2 weeks AND an OP ring on the way. You just want everyone to have Mythic kills like giving out free candy?
Basically thats their endgame to make up for the early cheaters.
I wouldn’t say it’s quite that much. The mistakes you make are still 100% going to kill you, and people aren’t doing 300% the damage they were on initial progress.
Whoooo have you seen the original vids of the best guilds in the world flopping for an entire week because it hit for 8m and aoed for 2m? Now it smacks for half that and stats are 2x what they were on players due to full myth from vault/craft. Also, boss has half the hp.
I’m just curious, what do teams like Liquid and Echo have that allows them to do this Raid but not other guilds?
Money, time, a masochistic fetish.
That and the support of Blizzard themselves.
Isn’t masochism itself a fetish?
A seemingly endless roster, heroic splits to gear up multiple of each spec, and a lot of time to throw at these encounters. I’m sure most guilds could do the same if they spent the same amount of time continuously on the boss just getting better and better at the dance.
Time and the ability to maintain a level of consistency using that time.
It’s one thing to raid 10 hours a day, it’s another entirely raid 10 hours a day and be as good as you were in the first hour by the 10th.
My guild are getting close to an ansurek kill now, we raid 3 days, 3 hours, and it’s taken us 10 weeks to get here which in terms of total time is similar. But there’s no way we could have done that with 9 days of 10 hours back to back, even ignoring the ilvl difference.
The problem is the stamina to actually be able to use that time improving as opposed to languishing / regressing is what really sets them apart.
The nerfs were targeted at mechanics where having even 50% more damage wouldn’t make a difference.
A guild that hasn’t started progging queen by now would have 0 chance at ever killing it without these nerfs.
people’s attendance is going to get dicey as we hit holidays. i welcome these nerfs.
You can skip more mechanics by having a bigger dps which then also makes the fight mechanically more easy. Also I disagree with your assessment, guilds were still killing over time queen as the numbers of guilds clearing the raid have gone up over time and already up to 100 and if the top 100 can do it then it’s way doable for a lot of people that got there.
P1 is the hardest part of the fight by far, that is why it received the most nerfs. More damage doesn’t let you skip any part of it.
P1 can be phased quicker and so can the intermission with more damage.
Oh, so you haven’t even done the fight on Mythic.
I’m sure we’ll get to that point eventually, but it will be many more weeks and more nerfs before then.
I went to double check, you’re right but even still I still believe if top 100 can do it then more can do it. If we would be stuck it would be a different story, we aren’t stuck and people are progressing through the fight.
Ehh, I think you are underestimating just how big the skill gaps can be. A top 200 guild is waaay behind the curve in terms of skill compared to just a top 100. A top 100 is a joke to a top 10, and so forth.
Just look at how hard Ovinax walled people before nerfs. People just farmed trash instead.
Because it was pretty badly done, most guilds didn’t want to do the amount of splits that top guilds did and they happened to get there before they got more gear. It’s something we knew that would get solved anyway hence why gearing took a bigger priority.
No I’m not underestimating the skill gap, I don’t think the skill gap after top 50 is that huge up to top 400. Sure it might take more time but I don’t think it’s in the range of impossible for those guilds.
