Mythic+ pugging is excruciating due to leavers

I wouldn’t mind this, though it would stink to get a “black mark” when something truly goes wrong (DC or RL emergency). I’d like the number to have context as well. Maybe an overall number and a “within the last 2 weeks” number.

Ya, but you just said that if they kick me… they also get a black mark on their record. Guess how many people are going to want to do that, as opposed to just… do a majority vote to end the dungeon.

You’re not going far enough. Maybe they should kill your dog too.

No I didn’t I said if they kick you they can’t vote to abandon the key that’s it. And if I’m the group leader I’m the only person who can do the majority vote so I get to choose whether you get deserter or not. If my key is ruined either way because you are leaving you better believe you’re getting deserter.

The problem is, “X left a key” is meaningless in the absence of WHY.

I don’t think players should get black marks that follow them around because they leave a key for valid reasons.

If Bob is in a key, and Jake is afk at the door, should Bob be punished because he didn’t sign up for a carry?

If Bob is in a key and Jake is doing 1k dps to everyone else’s 5k, should Bob be punished because Jake is awful?

If Bob is in a key and Jake is trolling the group by pulling extras, ruining skips, etc… should Bob be punished for not wanting to stick around for all that?

I don’t think so. I don’t think blizzard thinks so either.

No, probably not. Other games with a commendation type system only let you leave a positive or nothing at all. FF14 is that way after LFD groups.

There is no valid reason to leave a key before the timer ends. If your baby climbs into a stove and you have one black mark against you nobody is going to think twice unless they’re an idiot. If your baby is climbing in that stove every night then you should not be doing M+.

All of Bob’s problems are the risk you take pugging, feel free to run with guild or friends.

I see your problem now.

People leaving happens so infrequently in m+ that I can remember the last one that happened which was over 50 runs ago. This is speaking from only joining other’s +14 keys for vault and not bothering to research my pug group mates and their io beforehand. I don’t even make my own keys. Just for kicks I’ll look at their scores after the runs some with below 1K io doing +14s. Almost every pug run has been smooth and even 1-2 wipes won’t cause someone to bail.

I strongly disagree.

And, for the record, I don’t leave keys. But I support the right for any player to leave a group at any time.

m+ was not designed for the pug experience, and it should not be ruined, or we should not walk around with scarlet letters on our characters, because of the pug experience.

At the end of the day, leavers are not a problem in good groups.
build good groups.

I’ve known your problem was picking and choosing what you read from the beginning but I’ve humored you because as bad of a troll as you are you sometimes amuse me.

I thought you said if I kicked people at the start of my key I’d get a debuff too? That that would be a way to stop trolls from dolling out black marks willy nilly?

Why would a group leader give themselves a black mark, when they can just majority vote to end the dungeon without kicking anyone and without anyone getting a black mark on their record?

You’d be cutting off your nose to spite your face.

You may be willing to do that, but I doubt many others would. Either way… you’re giving way too much power to the group leader, and as I said before… your system is definitely NOT the lesser of two evils. I see way more potentials for abuse with your system, than with the current one.

God, people were against ML… imagine how much they’d hate randoms having the power to actually screw you out of your vault.

Not every key can be completed. They scale forever. You just going to sit in there until reset?

Bull. If you leave keys everyone should know it. The only thing ruining keys are people who sign up and ditch.

Learn to judge your groups better and maybe you won’t end up in “terrible” groups so often that you’re Concerned what others will think of your leaving stats. I’d happily broadcast mine on the forums attached to every toon. It’s a 2 or 3 btw. Since Vanilla

That’s priceless lol.

I see you struggle with reading comprehension

Here’s another angle. What about when someone is being overtly abusive? We’ve all seen this happen to healers, and definitely to tanks. Should they be forced to just take it the entire run? Even if they /ignore… should they just be forced to help people who are being verbally abusive?

Sometimes when I leave it has nothing to do with the gameplay, and everything to do with the player behind the keyboard.

No I didn’t. And you know that

You didn’t what?

What was this in regard to then?

I thought the safeguard to trolls kicking 4 people at a time, was to give them the debuff too? Or will it only work if they kick all 4 people?

And corollary to that - expect that bad runs will happen, there is a lot of randomness inherent to this game. People will lag/DC, or step in the bad, or boss mechanics will overlap in weird ways, or affixes will target the wrong person at the wrong time etc. Depending on OP’s goals (KSC,. KSM etc) a little bit of perseverance goes a long way.
