Thinking like Blizzard is why this won’t happen. M+ is their bread and butter. They’re not upsetting that apple cart with these kinds of “solutions” lol. Is that really the best you can come up with?

As I said, leaver=someone who didnt’ finish a run. There’s nothing incredible about it.
What if it was a trend based debuff? Seems more constructive.

The points of discussion in this thread has been written so many times its become a troll topic on GD. I have never once seen anyone Preheat/Human or anyone complaining come up with a solution that remotely fixes the problem. At this point its just another troll post on GD.
People are convinced that there are no solution to a “problem” until someone actually stops complaining and comes up with viable solution. I have asked many times on these threads for them to come up with an actual solution but so far no one has been able to come up with anything thats even worth discussing
For people that actually push io we rarely run into issues like this so it just seems like its a particular type of players that have this problem

Maybe, the acceptable answer eludes everyone right now. But discussion seems to be the correct method of any attempt at finding the answer.
I have seen people leave because +3 wasn’t met. There should be a reasonable solution without upsetting the population too heavily.

It’s a real shame that this happens, all over a timer. I’ve seen people even state “sorry I don’t want this run on my IO” as their reason for leaving - it’s cray cray.

How many more times do we have to see a post like this without solutions. Unless there is an actual solution even if Blizzard DOES read this nothing will ever happen because its not even perceived as a problem by Blizzard. Anything that they do to fix this “problem” will result in an even bigger issue exploitable by the player base.
So Humanbeak until you actually have a solution that isn’t exploitable to the point of breaking the game, anything said is moot.

while we’re at it. Can we add debuff for people who can’t interrupt, doing subpar dps, face pulling things people skip. Dying to mechanics that’s easily avoidable.

There’s too many ways to beat that. While you can pug to a pretty fair rating, it’s not really designed for that. As long as you have a system that scales all the way to impossible, it’s just not practical to have any kind of leaver penalty.
Somewhere along the line it became this taboo thing to admit to ourselves that sometimes you just need to pack it in and try again later. There’s no shame in it. M+ is about experience and repetition. There are plenty of lessons to be learned from failure. By now, hopefully most players know where the problem areas are. Those need to be addressed by the group. A debuff system doesn’t accomplish that.

1 wipe is not necessarily time to pack it in though.
The slightest hint of missing a timer should not be either. Hard to “practice” when folks bail immediately at the first sign of trouble.

Sometimes it is. You waste a pride and a lust on a boss this week and that’s a wrap. There’s no way around that. Try again and don’t make the same mistake.
I’m not a troll, I’m just not a game designer. I don’t know what the solution is, other than reusing the existing dungeon deserter debuff.
It’s clearly a real issue though as a thread about this gets posted basically every week. I thought it wasn’t an issue until I got in multiple groups in a row where it happened. It feels awful and there’s no accountability for people that nuke groups just because they feel like it.
One of my groups someone left over one death. It’s ridiculous and feels like griefing as that one person can waste 4 other people’s 30 minute investment with no consequence.
