Mythic plus/General

I have a few opinions about mythic plus and its affect on the game. I think its very popular even if i myself dont enjoy it. Its the main form of pve end game for alot of people, even trumping raids these days to some extent. so i have a couple ideas…

A. All endgame content should have its gear scale like honor/conquest gear. Mythic plus gear should scale up in mythic plus and down in every thing else. raid gear should scale up in raids and down in everything else. BG gear should scale up in bgs and down in everything else. Arena gear should scale up in arenas and down in everything else. Open world gear should scale up in open world and down in everything else.

B. Remove timers on all keys but bring back a challenge mode-esque mode with awesome aesthetic mogs and tight timers. no power affecting gear, just transmog stuff. have the mythic plus gear scale in this mode if idea A is implemented. Doing this i think would attract more players into mythic plus and solve the leaver problem because you could just bring another in without penalty. and for those who love the timers, they could get some awesome transmogs for doing the challenge modes.

umm…what the?

People who don’t participate in said content shouldn’t have a say in overhauling it.

Ok, it was just an idea sorry

Farming two sets would be a pain, since most people do both raiding and M+, unless you are suggesting deterministic/purchasable gear, which is unlikely to be implemented beyond features like the dinar system (which was quite limited).

Remove timers but bring back CM style runs with timers? I’m not sure what you’re getting at. CMs, while similar in some ways to M+, were pretty different in practice from what I understand.

I think M+ is fine as a system, and one I enjoy a lot. There are some things that annoy me about it at times, but the framework is solid and most suggestions seem to be trying to fix what isn’t broken if I’m being completely honest.

I agree with this. I don’t really like that the best M+ gear can come from raids and the best raid gear can come from M+. At this point I see them as separate things and should be treated as such. The gear from each should work in the other, but the best gear should come from the respective place.

I like the timers and the general flow of M+, but I think challenging content that didn’t have a timer would also be a good thing. I don’t think it needs to be one or the other.

As it stands though, beating the timer on a M+ that you’ve been working on, and playing to that meta, is something I enjoy.

Funny you should mention this because it came up in another thread, but I also really enjoy 2+ hour BRD runs on an appropriately leveled and geared toon in Classic. There’s room for the best of both worlds here

I dont think farming two sets would be a pain. Lots of people have multiple sets already. And with the timer thing i mentioned, i was just trying to improve on mythic plus, not fix it because its broken. There are alot of posts about people wanting punishment for leavers because it ruins their key timer. If there was no timer then that problem wouldnt exist. But i get some people love the timers. So thats why i mentioned making a challenge mode for those people

This is asinine logic. People who don’t currently participate in something, and have a reason they don’t are perfectly valid feedback points. They can be wrong, but so can someone who’s in the system itself.

I think an additional 5-man endgame system that does not feature a timer yet is still challenging would be a nice addition. If you want difficult dungeons yet don’t like the timers and affixes, then you’re SoL.

Instead of changing M+, which I think is good as-is for the most part, I wouldn’t be opposed to adding something, but I don’t know if Blizz would put in the effort realistically.

Thats a good idea too. More options is always better than less options imo.

Maybe something like “Legendary Dungeons”. Real hard but no timers. And maybe its own loot table with epic dungeon sets.

In short, a 5 man raid version.
This is another type of content, and I doubt blizz will even give it a thought any time soom since they are full enough with balancing 3 types of end game content already.

Thats probably true.

Yes to A. Except no scaling down. Just let all gear be upgraded.

Hard no to B. Like its one of the dumber ideas people present.

Why do people who don’t play or barely touch M+ always voice their rather silly ideas? Can we get some people who do the content voice their opinions please?

People don’t care about leavers because it ruins their key timer, they care because it wastes everyone’s time.

Without getting into a debate about M+ punishment, timers being gone doesn’t solve the issue of people leaving, as people would leave anyway if the group wasn’t up to their standards.

In fact, if the purpose of the challenge mode is being a hard challenge then there would be potentially more incentive to leave. Why would someone stay in the group if the healer can’t heal more than the DPS just because a timer isn’t there?

raiding is the main form of pve endgame.

5man dungeons are endgame but not as popular. more of a stepping stone to endgame pve, really.

plenty of people raid only to get specific pieces so they can push higher keys

and plenty of people only do M+ to do more dps in raids.
