Greetings!

I wasn’t sure which category to put this under, so I am placing it here. If there is a better location for it, please relocate it or let me know!

I am a co-developer of the Key Master (Key Master on Curseforge) addon which focuses on an on-demand in-depth overview of a players mythic plus season progress, ratings gain calculations, and group run key selection optimizations. It currently supports over nine different languages and is actively used (as of 9/11/24) by a guesstimated eleven thousand WOW players with over one hundred thousand downloads.

Since the launch of our addon at the beginning of the year (2024), one of the most overly laborious and frustrating guessing-game tasks has been chasing the mythic plus ratings algorithm prior to the official release of an upcoming season; and even days (if not weeks) into the live season to get it right.

I have previously reached out to Blizzard’s support staff to get in-touch with someone in-the-know to provide specifics ensuring that our built-in ratings algorithm is accurately representative of what World of Warcraft uses to make these calculations on the back end, to no avail. The reasoning I tried to reach out is because not only does this algorithm get changed/tweaked seemingly every season, but I can also not find anywhere that officially states or tracks these pre-season specific algorithm changes.

I have also reached out to other third-party web sites that showcase mythic plus ratings of which I was informed that they do not have pre-access to these changes either; everyone seems to have to guess their way to accuracy.

I humbly request that either the mythic plus rating system algorithm (both pre and post season launch) either gets its own project page where we can stay on top of accurately supporting changes or those that develop mythic plus support tools get some sort of access to someone within the development/support team to assist. This would be a massive help to ensuring users get the best experience with the most up-to-date information the moment it hits live and save countless hours of guessing to success.

Thank you!
