So far in S3 tuning they’ve nerfed every tank except for BrM (which got some deserved buffs) and left VDH untouched. I’d be happy if they just stopped nerfing every other tank.
Or why dont we buff BM, Guardian, and Prot warrior?
Also is this factoring in how far off the other specs were? There will always be a best spec and in a competitive environment people will always choose the best option. But if second best is only off by a small percentage why nerf?
Buff under-performers, only nerf when it is a genuine problem.
Nah. If anything VDH needs a raid buff. All that utility does nothing in raid. VDH lags behind 10% to 15% in the new raid according to logs.
It’s an encounter and dungeon design issue you’re complaining about. Don’t make 800 casters and all of a sudden grip and beam aren’t useful. Also beam and grips don’t work on lieutenant mobs.
And VDH had 60 second silence for many seasons and it wasn’t OP because you didn’t have 700 casters every pack. And grip wasn’t as useful.
But ultimately the answer is to give roles a better niche. Protection Warrior has disrupting shout, let it also add silence and give them a roar lust and skull banner back.
That may be true, but it’s only because it’s clearly the most powerful and easy to play tank overall. It’s just not that much fun to have one tank that’s clearly the best choice for several seasons in a row (with a short detour for TWW S1 pally).
It’s honestly why I’m not even bothering with m+ anymore. Tired of having to reroll meta or be punished by not getting invites.
It’s different if the specs are rotating in and out of meta fairly, but when something lasts years or multiple xpacs in the meta it just makes it feel forced.
Like mage, priest, and DH always have a spec that is meta while other specs have never once been meta since m+ was implemented. Just easier to not play the mode than it is to worry about what blizz is going to force me to play
