Mythic Plus Loot System

Hey, what you guys think about a new dungem system for gear scaling like we have in PvP? We could use the actual gear +13 ilvls when we go inside a mythic plus.

Items could be upgraded from 1 to 13*

01 → 262 (275 inside M+)
02 → 265 (278 inside M+)
03 → 268 (281 inside M+)
04 → 272 (285 inside M+)
05 → 275 (288 inside M+)
06 → 278 (291 inside M+)
07 → 281 (294 inside M+) requires a Mythic+ rating of 600 to upgrade.
08 → 285 (298 inside M+)
09 → 288 (301 inside M+) requires a Mythic+ rating of 1000 to upgrade.
10 → 291 (304 inside M+) requires a Mythic+ rating of 1400 to upgrade.
11 → 294 (307 inside M+) requires a Mythic+ rating of 1700 to upgrade.
12 → 298 (311 inside M+) requires a Mythic+ rating of 2000 to upgrade.
13* → 301 (311 “Elite” inside M+) requires a Mythic+ rating of 2500 to upgrade.

So no more needing to raid to be competitive in Mythic Plus and with the lower ilvl we would have from dungeons we ll not mess up the race to World First.

Increase the Valor Cap from weekly to 1000 and REDUCE the ilvl from the Great Vault to match the max upgraded gear from dungeon (Copy pasta from PvP mostly). Also we could upgrade our Great Vault gear same way we can with our PvP gear.

Great Vault and end of dungeons reward:

Key level 02 → 262 at end 272 vault Gear (275/285 inside M+).
Key level 03 → 265 at end 275 vault Gear (278/288 inside M+).
Key level 04 → 268 at end 278 vault Gear (281/291 inside M+).
Key level 05 → 272 at end 282 vault Gear (285/295 inside M+).
Key level 06 → 272 at end 282 vault Gear (285/295 inside M+).
Key level 07 → 275 at end 285 vault Gear (288/298 inside M+).
Key level 08 → 275 at end 285 vault Gear (288/298 inside M+).
Key level 09 → 278 at end 288 vault Gear (291/301 inside M+).
Key level 10 → 278 at end 288 vault Gear (291/301 inside M+).
Key level 11 → 281 at end 291 vault Gear (294/304 inside M+).
Key level 12 → 281 at end 291 vault Gear (294/304 inside M+).
Key level 13 → 285 at end 295 valut Gear (285/295 inside M+).
Key level 14 → 285 at end 295 vault Gear (298/308 inside M+).
Key level 15 → 288 at end 298 vault Gear (298/308 inside M+).

Scale everything to Dragonflight or new seasons and we have a system.
I dont want to be forced to raid to get 311 weapons/trinkets or pray to RNGesus to get a 304 weapon from my Vault.

Also after we “finish” our 311 gear, why would we keep playing?
Leech, Avoidance and Speed to be stronger and to push further.

Not everyone likes to raid, we like The Great Push and MDI and we want to play the game with the same good gear from pros.

I dont like that either, but what can we do to be competitive in mythic plus? Season 1 i needed to get Duelist to be 227 equiped. Most proplayers got 2400 pvp rank to upgrade their weapons to 233 ilvl. Getting gear from PvP to be competitive in M+ or raid is not fun. Not everyone wants to play PvP or Raid to be good at M+.

Just seperate all ways of gaining gear at this point. People alll care soo much about it may aswell make m+gear mainly good for only m+ and raid gear for mainly raid.

There was never a reason not to. The amount of players who are super competitive in multiple branches of content as well as would complain about having multiple sets is in the 4 figures.

This is all really well thought out and all, and I commend your effort to make this.

I think personally i’d hate having separate gear pieces as someone who enjoys both raids and M+.

Sadly the way it is right now I basically raid for fun, since I only do heroic raids, so most of my gear except for trinkets are from M+. I know they’re working on a change to balance the two for DF. Something like raising the difficulty for M+, which may help.

if you are a mythic raider, your mythic raiding gear will also work on M+

M+ isn’t a mini game, its a real thing now, so it needs more attention from devs. creating a “Dungeon ILVL” is something that will make the game more enjoyable for everyone who doesn’t like to raid or doesn’t have time to. Gear scaling only for M+ doesnt mean you’ll need to get dungeon gear to play M+, because raid is and always will be the best source of power. there will always something like the jailer’s gavel , sylvanas’ Bow/dagger, trinkets …

What is “competitive” in m+?

+29 and up. That’s the competitive bracket.

Okay, that sounds about right. That is like less then 1% of the population. I think you just have to accept you might need to step in a raid/PvP/m+ etc if you are pushing the top of any content.

They are legit the 0.05%. 1% is 23s. But, they are competing for the best in the world, top score, world first keys. Everyone can compete for their own goals, I personally go for 1% (2637 currently), some go for the 0.1% (2958 currently). The title is probably a reasonable competition on the low end of that bracket.

Side note: I’d kind of love to see a community leader board for fastest +15. Considering KSM is around 20% of the population, could be something people can get into when filling out vaults or on tough weeks.

so you need to play a content that you dont enjoy to get “gear” ? gearing isnt the fun part of the game, using the gear and generating high numbers, that is the best part !!!.

Imagine you as a raider being forced to do PVP because there is higher ilvl than Mythic raid and there are bosses that demand more gear to get killed.

youll have 2 options: wait to gear up on raid and let the hall o fame close or play pvp to get higher gear to kill bosses easily , then have a chance get in hall of fame

It’s happened before and it will happen again. It sucks but sometimes at that level things like that will happen. You’re asking for them to change the game for less then 1% of people.

Yea I’ve long thought this would be a good idea. I think that some BiS might still come from raiding, but it will be more about item selection (ie, trinkets, maybe weapons) than it is about raw item level.

I don’t Mythic Raid, not because I don’t think I can do it, but because my guild can’t be bothered to try to maintain a fixed 20 player roster in 2022, which I fully support. If Mythic Raiding was flex, sure, we’d absolutely do it, but since it’s not meeeeeeeeeeeeh.

I agree, but it’s also a bummer to have the best gear for an activity come from another activity.

1 example that comes to mind is the shard trinket. X damage reduced from every hit for 8s. This trinket is fairly useless in ST tanking. It’s broken beyond belief in m+. Why was this trinket a raid drop?

I would have gladly put blood barrier into raid where a big shield can actually help survive something.
