Mythic plus loot rewards needs a rework

So every season, on multiple characters, I always have to spam run one dungeon to get a specific piece of loot.

I will list some examples:

Jewelled Signet of Melandrus, Legion court of stars: over 150 runs, never saw the ring drop, actually unsubbed until antorus patch.

Haste Mastery Shield, Mists of Tirna Scithe: 37 runs

Blood spattered scale, De other side: 57 runs on one toon, 65 on another toon.

Codex of the First Technique, Tazavesh: 61 runs.

Workshop and Junkyard rings (shadowlands season 4): 37 runs to get junkyard ring, 75 runs in workshop to get the haste proc ring - it never dropped for me, a nice rogue gave it to me.

Horn of Valor Halls of Valor, DF: 45 runs.

Whetstone, DF court of stars: 37 runs.

Puzzle box, Algethar DF: 52 runs

Bile stained crawg tusks, DF Underrot: 54 runs.

Harlan’s Loaded dice, DF freehold: 40 runs, never got it, gave up.

Tree mouth Festering splinter, brackenhide hollow: 38 runs.

There’s more but for the sake of not spending all day writing this post, we’ll leave it at that.

I am currently farming porcelain crab from throne of tides, I am on run 34 and have received many duplicate items. The last three pieces of loot I got were periwinkle cloak, periwinkle cloak and then periwinkle cloak.

There needs to be some sort of bad luck protection for getting a specific piece of loot from a mythic plus dungeon.

A currency that you get after every run, 50 runs and you get to choose a piece of loot?

Making drops unique so that if you have an item at the same or higher ilvl, you cannot get another one.

For example, say I got a periwinkle cloak at 463 ilvl, then I wouldn’t be able to get another periwinkle cloak unless it was higher than 463 ilvl - this would effectively allow players to work towards the item they want and make sure that there is definitely an end to the farming.

Unlike my jewelled signet of melandrus situation which literally made me quit the game.

I got many of these items you are talking about. It took no where near that many runs. You are either super super super unlucky, or you are embellishing how many runs it actually took.

Some of us really are just that unlucky.

They design it this way on purpose. It’s World of Casinocraft. It keeps you on the hamster wheel longer chasing items you want really badly. It’s a system designed to prey on people for their time.

If you could target every item you wanted with a currency, past metrics show them you’re much more likely to stop playing sooner in the season. I personally find that argument silly because I’d be far more inclined to play multiple alts if you could target gear. Now when I get what I want I just quit entirely until next patch.

Targeting stuff feels bad as you gotta stack a party.

Also needs to be rewards between 20 and r1, like an armored mount or mogs.

im not the only one this happens to…

lets see, it took 27 runs of mists of tirna scithe to get the changeling trinket for my warlock friend - every single run i was there, also putting my loot spec on healer so i could get the trinket… so two chances per run to get the trinket, still took 27 runs.

Blizzard seems to be worried that if PVE players could target what loot they want, they would end up quitting the game quicker once there were no more items to chase after.

Why did you have to ? Were you being threatened across multiple toons ?

and that is entirely wrong because having to run the same dungeon over and over is not fun… i want to be able to be done with that and actually play the game

Like that sucks, but this is a hardship brought on yourself.

Is call great vault you get a 2bd chance to get an item

You don’t NEED those items, there’s many items that will yield a similar dps result.

You need to stop chasing BiS gear because it is literally impossible to get a full character in BiS gear.

Even when you go on wowhead they SPECIFICALLY STATE.

“targeting your absolute Best in Slot gear isn’t entirely realistic;”

^ literally a quote from the website.

The way you’re playing the game only harms your experience.

This is why I don’t target my BiS trinkets.

If I get them, great. If not . . . the second/third best trinket will do just fine.

And for 99% they are better off knowing the content ie when to use CD for the big damage the route of the dungeons the different mechanics mobs and boss do where to position when to use Def CD. Those will net more damage increase than chasing BiS

A lot of you telling op to stop chasing bis instead of wanting blizz to fix there garbage loot system the real reason no one plays wow anymore it takes to much time for everything.

Are you the OP?..

Because you entirely missed the point.

Ya’ll carry that same energy.

thank you, very-well said.

I couldn’t imagine farming for lesser versions of items that are best out of the vault.

But I don’t target gear, so… I don’t have these issues.

Yea it’s just the OP putting some weird restriction on himself which in turn is ruining his gaming experience.

Then comes to GD to complain about RNG being RNG.

He’s also known for trolling, but ya know…

Just curious - what’s the new Rashok’s Molten Heart his tier? A lot of healers had enough of it and just quit since this would never drop for them, which contributed to the healer shortage
These trinkets that can dang near define how a class performs is absolute lunacy. You’re gonna make players raid for an entire tier and not let them experience their class being optimized?
