So every season, on multiple characters, I always have to spam run one dungeon to get a specific piece of loot.
I will list some examples:
Jewelled Signet of Melandrus, Legion court of stars: over 150 runs, never saw the ring drop, actually unsubbed until antorus patch.
Haste Mastery Shield, Mists of Tirna Scithe: 37 runs
Blood spattered scale, De other side: 57 runs on one toon, 65 on another toon.
Codex of the First Technique, Tazavesh: 61 runs.
Workshop and Junkyard rings (shadowlands season 4): 37 runs to get junkyard ring, 75 runs in workshop to get the haste proc ring - it never dropped for me, a nice rogue gave it to me.
Horn of Valor Halls of Valor, DF: 45 runs.
Whetstone, DF court of stars: 37 runs.
Puzzle box, Algethar DF: 52 runs
Bile stained crawg tusks, DF Underrot: 54 runs.
Harlan’s Loaded dice, DF freehold: 40 runs, never got it, gave up.
Tree mouth Festering splinter, brackenhide hollow: 38 runs.
There’s more but for the sake of not spending all day writing this post, we’ll leave it at that.
I am currently farming porcelain crab from throne of tides, I am on run 34 and have received many duplicate items. The last three pieces of loot I got were periwinkle cloak, periwinkle cloak and then periwinkle cloak.
There needs to be some sort of bad luck protection for getting a specific piece of loot from a mythic plus dungeon.
A currency that you get after every run, 50 runs and you get to choose a piece of loot?
Making drops unique so that if you have an item at the same or higher ilvl, you cannot get another one.
For example, say I got a periwinkle cloak at 463 ilvl, then I wouldn’t be able to get another periwinkle cloak unless it was higher than 463 ilvl - this would effectively allow players to work towards the item they want and make sure that there is definitely an end to the farming.
Unlike my jewelled signet of melandrus situation which literally made me quit the game.
