Blizzard please implement a punishment system for people that repeatedly leave keys. It is a complete waste of time for everyone involved when someone rages at the last boss and leaves. Its simple put in a vote system if the vote passes the group is disbanded if not if you leave you get penalized.
Yes please.
Oh yeah, punish people that need to leave or want to leave. That is a good game system that will never fail. Simple solution; if a person leaves, the timer stops ticking down. Then when you have someone to replace the person that left, you have 30 seconds until the timer starts back up or you start fighting. There problem solved.
The real punishment is playing the garbage mythic+ system in the first place.
They wont do this because you could bully people to leave so you can bring in a buddy at the last boss that needs gear.
Sounds like a flawed system, versus a flawed person.
Community: Please give us a leaver penalty to punish toxic players
Blizzard: I got you fam, you can’t delete keys anymore
Community: Wait, that’s not what we want-
Blizzard: I’m so glad the players are having fun!
No. I don’t see why i should be punished by toxic players that feel they can run their mouth at me because i’m stuck in their key.
It’s also a waste of time to attempt to carry a group of terrible players. Want people to not ruin your key and stick around? Don’t be garbage.
If you are “pushing keys that are above what you are comfortable doing” go look for a actual group on the forums or something and set something up. High end keys are made for groups that are willing to work together, not for a rag tag team of rando rambos. They have already said they want M+ to feel equal to Raid progression in terms of end game. If you want a solid never fall apart group put one together and stop pugging keys. Also Download Raider io so you can see what your getting yourself into in terms of approximate skill and the likeliness that the instance will be completed in time or at all.
Nope cause d/cs happen and toxic groups happen why should someone be punished for leaving if someone is being insanely toxic? Happens alot in pugs
There should be a safe guard to where you key will just stop and u can redo it without it depleting
It being equal to raid progression… if you are pugging a heroic uldir and you make it to g’huun and the group falls apart you dont have to start all the way back at taloc and reclear… thats exactly what the problem with mythic plus is you can put an hour into making the group and running the dungeon only to have someone leave.
Except a M+ dungeon is more akin to a raid boss instead of the entire raid itself. So the better analogy would be: If you push G’huun to P3 and wipe, you don’t restart the fight at P3. You restart the fight at P1.
except a raid boss is 5 mins a mythic plus can be upwards of 30 plus forming. This analogy is also flawed because you get to start g’huun at the same level you dont all the sudden have to do normal g’huun to get back to being able to attempt heroic g’huun again.
Meh, I suggested a system that would allow players to re-start failed keys in a prior thread, but the forums weren’t a fan. You can see it by checking my post history.
Either way, them having a punishment system for leavers would just crop up it’s own set of problems. Instead of a player leaving (to avoid the punishment) they’d just AFK until others had left. You could put in a report system for this, but that would then be subject to abuse by griefers or people reporting others for any reason. All of this sounds like more work for bliz, for little return.
Your best bet is to simply make friends and run keys with them. Even failed keys can be fun doing this. But if you insist on running with random people, then accept the fact that random people will randomly be douchebags for random reasons at random times.
Edit: Here was my system. Please note that I added an edit concerning loot.
And often you do end up having to reclear trash when jumping back into the raid with a different group, so yeah
Here’s a better idea:
Let’s question why people are leaving in the first place. If the answer is because you were toxic, then why should they be punished?
I’ve got a better solution. Crack down on social standards, such as banning spammers, exploiters, extreme profanity, and toxicity toward others players. The entire game atmosphere would improve.
The vast majority of people I have seen leave keys are after they make a hugely embarrassing mistake or just aren’t good in general. Like last week I did a +11 waycrest and a rogue did terribly and face pulled a bunch of trash on accident and then left group. We asked him to come back and we could finish on time no problem and he put us all on ignore or logged out. We completed the key with 4 people anyway and its a real shame he probably got a +11 chest and a 10 key for the weekly chest.
I’ve seen tons and tons of players leave group after failing the invis run in black rook hold. That was a classic spot for salty leavers.
Having to do stuff watching a timer is a high anxiety endeavor, especially if you are learning, is mind boggling. Watching a clock is a way to play a game. I particularly do not like it , does not mean someone loves it. I think Blizzard thinks it is a great idea!
There should be mythic without timers and have that option to join…
Maybe that would solve some of these problems with raging players quitting.
Keys should not exist in the first place. It only serves to bottleneck content players would otherwise attempt, and pit players against one another with toxic attitudes and excessive entry requirements (like ilvl and io) that often exceed the rewards yielded by the dungeon.
Drop the keystones, keep the timer and affixes. Let players select their Mythic+ difficulty right from the menu. Change the drops so that loot is only rewarded if the dungeon is completed within the time frame to prevent welfare loot.
You’d see more players attempting Mythic+ (nevertheless learning even if they fail), more lenient entry requirements, more tanks, less toxicity, etc.
