I have never played Mythic Plus. So I don’t know. From what I hear it is a high effort, high commitment/involvement thing. From hearing people talk about it, it sounds like a high stress endeavor. The first thing I learned is there is no dungeon finder for Mythic Plus.
You gotta either look through premade groups or you gotta make your own group. I guess I can’t make my own group since I don’t know what I’ll be doing. I understand you gotta qualify to join someone else’s premade group. Like they check you out somehow and if they don’t like your gear and stats etc. You get rejected.
So it’s kinda a daunting thing. Like it’s an exclusive club that you can’t join be cause you lack some fancy credentials. It all sounds like it’s almost set up to discourage players from playing Mythic Plus. Also there’s some kinda timer, so that you gotta race through the dungeon.
I have heard that the real game starts at max level playing Mythic Plus. But to me it sounds like it could be scary. Specially how some players can be toxic. Is it worth trying to play Mythic Plus? Is it stressful. Can something like this fun?
Its easy enough to get 5 ppl in Disc and have a good time doing keys. Alot easier then getting a raid grp. The pug scene is hit and miss. Sometimes fun, sometimes not.
It’s infinitely scaling, so you can challenge yourself to, well, infinity.
I used to run it a lot, I enjoy doing them with friends from time to time but I will never pug them again. I mostly focus on Delves and Raiding nowadays.
But no, they can be fun! If you clear a T11 Delve you get a quest for a +2 so that’s a great way to tip your toes in. +2s are not very difficult but enough to give you a taste of the experience.
The high stress depends on group and if you’re pushing. If you’re just doing low keys (below 12s), it’s generally not bad at all. The usual group I run with just talks about our day and memes while we clear.
There are a lot of +2 groups that’ll take just about anyone. Start with regular mythic dungeons, so you have some idea what you’re up against. Making your own group guarantees you don’t have to worry about getting invited. You can invite other players who are also new to mythic dungeons and learn together. What won’t work is trying to get invited to groups that expect experience without having it.
This is true for a small percentage of very good players. It is true for Ion, the game director as well.
However it is not true for everyone. The field of solo players is growing and is just as happy doing questing, Follower Dungeons, Delves, Story Mode Raids, Gathering and Professions.
Then there are the PvP people and the Role Play people.
WoW is more of an open world environment that contains games with Mythic+ and Mythic raids being two of them.
I tend to find people that say this usually don’t apply any thought beneath surface level, and consider anything beyond that as overthinking, or deep.
Much like saying it’s just harder versions of the dungeons…like sure, on the surface that’s a simplified truth, but theres a lot more that goes into it than just being harder versions
M+ is a game mode for those who enjoy challenge. Some players love it, some don’t. It scales indefinitely, so you can start with M-0 and see if you like it. If you enjoy it, you can work your way up gradually and see how far you can go.
I did, what you said was irrelevant to my original comment. No one here is talking about details, only a base level of what could be considered fun or not. If you don’t like dungeons, you probably aren’t going to like harder versions of the same dungeons lol.
