Mythic Plus Idea For a Future Patch

Here’s an idea for mythic +. Scrap the whole keystone item aspect altogether. Make it so that if you go into a dungeon on mythic difficulty you can go interact with the pedestal. Then choose from a drop down list similar to challenge rifts in Diablo III which level difficulty you want to do… Make it so that only the party lead can do this to avoid griefing. The choice would refresh at the beginning of each season and would update based on how much you timed the dungeon by. For instance say it’s the start of a season. You get a group together and go into De Other Side. You interact with the pedestal and choose “+2”, then if you end up finishing it in time to +3 it, the next time you go in there, you are able to select from the drop down list “De Other Side +5”

…and then have ilvl 200 people complain how Rift15 is too hard. No thanks. Keep it as is.

But then you would complete your KSM so much faster, there would be no Mythic Keystone RnG. Then you wouldn’t waste hours of your time trying to find a group for a +15 Who Cares

What happens when you’ve worked your way to +15 DoS and you instead want a +15 NW? You have to start at +2 and work your way up?

People are going to complain either way. Does that mean one should stick with a dated system? Especially when they have said they’re looking for a way for players to choose which mythic + dungeon they are able to do?

Not sure on that part as of right now, I don’t see why one would hard focus a specific dungeon though when in order to raise score its best to do all dungeons equally

Blizzard would care lol. They can’t have you gear up too quickly.

I do think they should have more than one mode, and this one doesn’t sound bad.

That would be a reasonable requirement.

That would take the RNG out of it, and we all know that’s not going to happen. I don’t even mind the level of RNG in the keystone system. Why the keystone looks like an hour-glass however… >.>

What I wouldn’t mind seeing, in order to fill a need for those who dislike the timer, is a method to trade in your keystone for any level of keystone for that dungeon. The loot/vault/rewards would be set at the keystone level you traded in, you could only get “completion”, and the timer would be removed.

At the same time there doesn’t need to be an rng aspect involved in what dungeon you are able to go do. At least imo. And Blizzard, by saying what they did seems to agree. In a recent Bellular video he said that Morgan announced that they are discussing within the team how to let people choose their keystone.

Blizz insists on the RNG to ensure people don’t only do the easier dungeons each week.

They would have to redesign their entire reward structure or else everyone would only do Mists for the great vault options

They could already just do that simply by joining mists groups in premade group finder.

That’s true…But finding/pugging 10 M+14 Mists is way harder than it sounds, especially for DPS

If everyone had free unlimited access to the dungeon, it would be the only dungeon anyone would really do…because why would you do a harder one?

While I agree with that once people are at the point where the only upgrades they can possibly get are from the vault, there’s still the aspect of needing to do the various dungeons in order to get specific pieces of gear that you can’t get out of the other dungeons.

Fixing M+ is fairly simple:

Remove AOE Cap
Remove/Nerf Tyrannical
Remove/Replace/Re-design problem affixes like Bursting, Bolstering
Add a system for people to re-roll their keystones, like using Valor or a separate currency
Stop designing mobs/dungeons that force you to slow down (RP, timed add spawns, etc)
Design a more fulfilling rewards system

Legion M+ was fun because you could pull a ton and blast. Each expansion after Blizzard has tried to prevent us from doing that and M+ has only gotten worse and worse.

I’d rather they just divorce the dungeon from the keystone.

Make keystones just a +x that can be used in any dungeon.

Make keystones not deplete on failures

Change vault to 1/4/8 different dungeons.

Remember that blizzard gives everything with the monkeys paw mentality. Whatever they replace it with is likely to have just as big of a downside if not bigger.
