So, is anyone else having problems in Mythic plus with people doing extremely poor damage and a few bad healers here and there? I’ve had my fair share of bad runs in mythic plus this expansion and in past expansions when i do bad. But wow, this is just rough. I think the problem derives from people gearing in delves, then suddenly thinking their gear score alone will win a mythic plus key.
I myself geared my main and lots of my alts through delves, but i have plenty of mythic plus experience that when i do dps and or tank, im not weighing anyone down. Right now i have to sweat and carry way too hard. As paladin im constantly casting BoK, BoS, LoH, theyre on cooldown, i don’t see any other paladins using utility, like ever. When im tanking, im out dpsing our dps members at times, and not because i deal significant damage, but they’re so low and bad. I have frost dk’s lower on the meters, mages, rogues, warriors.
I think Delves are fantastic but have caused a problem in the mythic plus scene. Gear score does not make you a great player and does not make you automatically prepared to time keys. Now that i am tanking, im tired of not timing keys and mobs taking forever to die, even with perfect pulls and running the routes and not wasting time, the damage from players just isnt there at most times.
TL;DR Delve geared players are causing mythic plus to be an even bigger chore than before by not knowing their class properly or rotations.

This was definitely a topic that was discussed at the start of the season. People felt like they shouldn’t or didn’t need to do lower keys because they already out geared them through Delves. People don’t understand that ilvl isn’t enough to compensate for a complete lack of dungeon knowledge. Before Delves, the same argument would be true for M+ and Raids. Someone who got geared from crest farming M+ who never raided before shouldn’t be jumping straight into Mythic Raids and vice versa. Skill can translate across multiple forms of content, but they still need the content knowledge.
The utility issue is definitely a major problem where players are too used to brute forcing with big numbers instead of helping out the team with utility.

This is a common complaint. Blizzard apparently needed to boost participation in delves to be able to report them as successful, and didn’t care that it would lead to the exact situation we have now. It’s always been about short term profits, and a change in ownership hasn’t changed that one bit.

Delves should be significantly more challenging to prepare players for M+ afterwards.
Or, players need to stay in their respective lanes.
has nothing to do with delves.
there has always been bad players expecting to be carried through content even since vanilla.
for example in my guild there is a tank that never ever interupts. not once. lmao. and he’s got like 2600 rating. been getting carried by people a lot i guess lol.
solution: stop carrying those bads through runs
first sign of bad players just leave group+hearth. no need to sit for 30 minutes arguing and yelling back and forth. not worth anyones time.

Anyone who blames dps as usual “a few healers” here and there while not even entertaining the idea that tanks just might be bad can’t be taken seriously.
Blaming dps for everything is lazy. That’s why everyone does it. You don’t know how to properly critque a tank or healer so when things go wrong just blame the dps. Easy and lazy.

I mean Delve should’ve been a mage tower thing, you do it for nice transmogs/mounts and you let gear out of it.
It damaged Mythic+
The Gear not equal to Skill is a preeminent situation since ever. In previous expansions,
I used to outdps, in Raids, meta specs with BiS in my raid groups, while using a subpar spec.
If anything, the ilvl reward in Delves is good so it allow people to try content they are not used to, the problem imo is:
- Everyone, even M+ players, are skipping low keys.
And the condensed amount of key levels get people off guard at the sharp difficulty curve. Hells, I did one M0 when I was 609 in gear and trash mobs in M0 hitted me for 60% HP with one auto.
Given how steep M+ is know in terms of difficulty, it is of no surprise people are joining and wiping. Its always a common misconception that you can outgear content. But, people should feel safer with good gear to try M+, thats for sure.

But i play all 3 roles on multiple characters. So no, i know how to critique them just fine. I am simply stating that when im playing tank role, it is felt more when with bad dps players because each fight lasts too long, and when im on my dps role, it is felt more when we get a bad healer due to me having to constantly keep my offheals on rotation to pick up the healers slack. I do just fine on damage and tank, my healing this expansion i have not dabbled in as much do to this exact reason. There are plenty of great tanks ive ran into and dps and healers, but so far definitely way more bad than good.

Delves are fine, a majority of people doing delves will never be in your Mythic+ runs, because Mythic+ is awful, and Delves are far more intresting. (At least to me)
If anything I think Teir 11 Delves should drop gilded tokens 2 per bountiful chest.

They’re liked pruned down keys, though. There’s a fraction the mob variety and only one boss that has, like, 1 meaningful mechanic. It’s boring because you’re just sitting there doing damage to a mob with too much hp for like 3 minutes.
The singular appealing aspect as that they can be done solo.

what are you even talking about, you straight up don’t make any sense

Not really different than M+, then.
Boistering and Tyrannical afixes were pretty much just that. HP sponge mobs and bosses.
Key levels are also that, just flat % increases in HP and Damage.
Still, fun is subjective. You think thats boring, she thinks M+ is boring. Each one does what they think its fun and let the other enjoy themselves with what they find fun.
Everybody wins.

I think a lot of people want to learn M+ but they get declined to keys because their gear is too low. So they gear up in Delves to get invites and now they can start learning.
Low keys are not a good place to learn M+ either, because when everyone outgears it, they can just treat it like a Heroic and still not learn mechanics.
Getting started in M+ is just a miserable experience.

Delves are literally just easier solo keys with fewer mechanics.
The line appears in all content.
Use defensives, interrupt, get out of bad, step into good, kite if u need to, use your toolkit…
It’s the very basic here.

Of course delves are heightening this issue. Anyone saying otherwise doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Especially with the key squish, rewards coming from higher keys, tank nerfs, and challengers peril.
Many players have gear above world quest gear for the first time they’ve ever played. Naturally, the only way for them to progress is to jump into 7-10 keys. They might have done 7-10 keys before the squish so they have a false sense of confidence.
Yes, there are more players in a tighter pool of key levels, with many key levels getting devalued from delves having much easier loot progression up to hero. These players are inexperienced and have never done anything close to a 17-20 presquish, but probably have done a 7-10 presquish. All of these issues combined cause an excess of people pugging in these keys that don’t know what they are doing.

So? The M+ and Delve gameplay experience are completely different. Else M+ players would enjoy Delves and Delves players would enjoy M+.
Which given how many M+ players say its boring, it isnt true.
