why are players allow to quit in the middle of a mythic + to make 4 other players suffer. there is no option to replace the member who left. just got screwed 3 times in a row. this is sickening
For the same reason they can be kicked.
Someone doesn’t want to play with someone else.
There really should be an option to replace, just like there should be no penalty for getting kicked. But the dev team wants to make it just a little artificially harder.
Because that’s the only way m+ can be balanced.
You can’t force someone to sit at their computer and play, so not letting them leave wouldn’t work.
You can’t just let people join mid way through or teams pushing 20+ keys would just bring in 4 freshly boosted toons for boosted chest/loot and keystone master.
I think I’ve seen someone leave like twice in all of BFA. If people are leaving your groups 3 times a day, it might be a you problem.
It’s a poorly thought out game element.
On one hand, you have auto group dungeons (timewalking, for instance). Any player who leaves one of these can simply be replaced, AND the leaving player gets a 30 minute timeout from joining any other auto grouped runs.
In M+, leaving absolutely screws over the rest of the run, and carries zero penalty to the leaving player.
There is no situation in which these 2 outcomes make sense.
Hmmm. Your entire server is full of people who leave keys the second it doesnt go well. Experienced it first hand many times.
What keys are you doing? In 17s and 18s I really don’t see anyone ever leave. I think when I’ve seen people leave its the low keys like 10-12. That is kinda where the people hang out who think they are really good but are very very bad.
Pugs this happens constantly, this is why I do mythic pluses with my guild. Pugs are a 50/50 you’re taking a real gamble doing a mythic plus pug.
Really? I find the opposite. Higher keys people have less incentive to stay whereas if youre gearing up theres still a chance at loot at the end, anyways the highest keys ive done were 3 timed 18s last season. Not much but still pretty good frame of reference.
I haven’t seen anyone leave this season, and I have my fair share of untimed, finished 18-20 keys. I don’t know what to tell you.
Oh yeah.
I call it the “silver” or “gold” elo of WoW. ( Anyone that plays games such as League or Overwatch will know)
Also where the toxic players are. Cuz they think they are right even when they are wrong.
Too bad I only ever do keys in this area. At least I always nice, which usually means other people are nice to me. Be like me, bad and nice. Dont be bad and mean
Is there?
What about a pushing group that screws up a couple of crucial pulls early on and decide to just trash the key and pick it up another time? Or any other number of times where leaving is legitimate.
On the other hand, we can’t let the group refill - what about groups who decide to kick their 5th pug member and bring in someone else? (kara mount runs come to mind
It’s a system of compromises.
The way society is now. People do not have the spine to actually stick together through a tough run, whether it is a skill or a personality issue.
I don’t like seeing people quit, or get kicked. Personally I would like the penalty for leaving x2 as long, and the penalty for being kicked to be lowered ( since you are the only one punished; the people that voted could care less about your absence ).
It’s all spite…
It’s also a raider .io issue. If the run is going south, going over time shows up. But if the run isn’t finished it doesn’t.
So if someone has an emergency, and they can’t quit a Mythic+ group, I suppose they are just going to let their character just stand there. I mean that’s basically the same thing as leaving, you are still down 1 person.
Stop whining.
Just have the loot and roll table roll percentages by boss killed. But kicking someone before the final boss requires a votekick and puts the key into a special zone, not timed or untimed but “Refilled run”. Refilled runs allow one to obtain the 2 items at the end like a untimed dungeon, or drop mounts or grant achievements or show up on leaderboards. This would allow people to complete loot. In exchange, the weekly chest still counts the run, but only if you were a original player that killed at least 75% of bosses in the run. Partially completed runs from leavers / joiners do not count.
So say, in a hypothetical. You do a dungeon, someone dcs on the 2nd boss. They only have killed 1/4 of the bosses, so they roll a 25% loot rate for each boss by personal loot but a filler who does the other 3/4 rolls a 75% loot rate as normal of the other filler players.
For loot funneling, mythic loot could also be dropped by boss it was tagged form, so say a player, wants the sword of shins from say Harley Sweetie in Freehold. They see a refill pug offering it. They join the run, timer is destroyed but he can still get a small chance at loot. He runs happy.
A buyer comes in, and wants all the loot from all 4 bosses, he sets up a friend to kick a guy at the last boss and replace it with him.
He is allowed to fill and do the boss, but only gets 25% of likelyhood and cannot be traded the end of run loot from his friends that could have dropped from say, the cannon trinket he might have farmed. And the group might be unhappy to potentially lose out on 50% of the loot to just give one guy so they stick together and don’t sell or have to be tight.
Another player, wanting to disband a key as a group, agrees that it’s a bit messy, and leaves the group, everyone leaves, nothing bad happens.
Thoughts?
Not really, I got screwed two times in a row too, both by tanks from Ragnaros leaving on first wipe, on a +7 and +8 keys.
“To pug or not to pug”
Tis is thy question
Yeah that sucks, even at the high keys too, was trying to do a weekly earlier before the ddos hit with a wm 15. the run was 90% completed, 90% trash, only the last 2 easy bosses done. 48 deaths, healer was typing on grevious and ignoring heals to let stacks build up to the full 4 and probably 3-5 of those wipes were wiping healer playing with power during the coronavirus.
Eventually they got to a point where the run was projected to be completed, but overtimed in 3 minutes. They went “Unless this is being timed im leaving” people went “Seriously, it will be timed, just 10 more minutes”, but they kept deliberately or unintentionally letting grevious fall and laughing at it and killed the key.
Eventually it got to the point where they had basically everything done, we went "seriously it’s just 3 minutes, if you want 465 spam loot just do a 14), and they went “No i only do this for the io lol. do you really want me to stay??”
“Urgh can you just do this dungeon and stop being a troll”
“Thanks”
The tank left instead since they didnt’ want to deal with them.
“OMFG i kid i kid”
“this group has been disbanded.”
-_-
Sometimes you get what you wish for and screw 4 other people over.
The random dungeon finder puts together random groups for content that is designed to be completed by that type of group.
The party leader uses the group finder to put together a group that is capable of completing the content of his choice. It is the party leader’s responsibility to create a group that can succeed. If he fails to do so, he has wasted everybody’s time. His penalty is a downgraded key.
