Mythic+ pays out on the lowest run?!

So let me get this straight here…with the current wording on the Great Vault, I can run nine 10 keystones and a single 2 keystone (a guild teaching run), and now my reward is a 2 keystone, not a 10? WTF?!

No, you’ll get 3 options:
First option will be highest key
Second option will be 4th highest key
Third option will be 10th highest key

…not as terrible as i thought…but still a bit off from the original perception as it was delivered to us.

Why did they make it so complicated.

Just pay from the highest key done wtf is wrong

Basically the reward for running a single 10 is 1 piece of 10 loot, exactly like before. But now if you run 4 10s, you’ll get 2 choices.

The alternative would be to run a 10+ and then run 9 +2s and get a choice of 3 loots all at +10 level - why would anyone ever run more than 1 +10?

Agreed^^ When you think about it…its not like doing it that way can be exploited that hard. So you do nine 2 keys and a single 10…giving you three choices. But you still only walk away with one item of those three. So why not make all three choices at that 10 lvl, knowing they are actually getting just 1 item…like normal anyways.

Most of us run more than a single 10 in a week for io rating and achievements. Like keystone master.

I agree. This is a really stupid system. I’m surprised they don’t require us to do 6 daily pet battle world quests using only mechanical pets, on a moonless night in order to open up the vault.

But imagine if you felt you had to run 9 +2s to get your choices? It would feel like a chore.

Otoh running 9 more keys at the highest level you can is a challenge and deserves rewards. It’s fun - and like you say, most of us do it anyway.

What did you think the “original perception” was?

Because this system is still a straight buff over the old one.

Given the newly added loot scarcity, I will stick to my guns that letting us have the choices based of the highest run off-sets the growing feeling of pay-out not fitting the effort.

The current system rewards consistently challenging yourself. The alternative rewards chores.

I’m glad blizzard did it like they did - you shouldn’t get +10 rewards for running lots of +2s.

But it doesnt reward being helpful. See the turnabout?

I will concede that it is better than just random table payouts. But “Original conception” was taken from ians mouth. When he first fired off about the new system. He didnt say, rewards based on some of the runs you do. He said choices in items. The extra complexity of how the tables are decided was never out in BIG BOLD WORDING for us to know that before getting a firsthand look.

I thought there was more player agency there than there actually was.

It has no effect on being helpful because it only counts your highest keys. Do 10 high keys to get a reward worth 10 high keys. You can do whatever other keys you like.

It’s so you can’t do a single +15 and a dozen +2s and still get all the +15 items. You want high level gear, do more high level keys.

All the 15 items…you get to choose ONE item still…not get three items at 15 lvl. Honestly, its a way to make sure you dont get your 22nd belt of the season. But if thats what its meant to do, then just let it do it. Is it really so bad to let players have a bone every now and then? Feels like titanforging all over again. Cant be happy for someone else to get a thing with out being crappy about you not getting the thing.

It rewards people with more choices for putting more work into m+. You want 3 15 choices for only doing 1 15 a week? It’s like killing one mythic boss in raid but wanting all 3 choices to be mythic quality even though the last 9 were on normal

You have a very weird edge to you considering how badly theyve throttled lootdrops this expac. We’re not making this up. And its by far not the only issue in Shadowlands. YES, if you do ten 15’s first itll look like that… But NOT if you try to be helpful before getting ALL those runs in.
Do you seriously not see the problem here?

And its not MORE WORK per person. People get carried all the time. And have NO SKILL. MAking everything so RNG dependent is not a good take.
