Mythic Ovinax design and issues that need correcting

As many guilds we are working on this boss and I feel there are things that make it more frustrating than needs to be.

1: breaking the eggs require 2 people per egg. Issue is the circle to break this egg need to overlap both eggs and at times it does not register. I have had instances where my circle in on both eggs, same as my duo and 1 egg does not break. a 0.5 yard leeway would go a long way in making this less frustrating.

2: Visiblity and swirlies.

Again purple stuff on floor, undefined swirlies that should have been circles, perfect circles would make this more visible.

  • Please STOP making swirlies without making them draw perfect circle with perfectly defined contour.

  • Please STOP making swirlies as a mechanic that is not highly contrasted with the floor of the room.

  • Please give ACCESSIBILIY option to highly contrast swirlies.

  • Please give the option to completely DISABLE ALL other players spells effects, ALL OF THEM. Casters dont care, melee visuals needs to get better.

Bug: if a melee jumps and was the target of swirlies, there will ne no swirly on the ground and the melee will get globalled by an invisible swirly. this needs to be fixed.

Bug 2: Travel time to swirlies in melee is way faster than in range (intended?) . The closer you are to the boss and the harder it is to dodge. Please give additional time between the floor telegraph and the swirlie hitting. Swirlies should never be under the boss.

Issue: when trying to break an egg you might get targetted by a swirlie at the same exact time you are positioned to break an egg. it happens once every three rotation of breaking eggs. Dont know if intented but really unecessary for a fight with so many things already to do.

Looking at logs melees are the bulk of damage taken by swirlies. A few reasons are listed above.

Additonally can you please give other classes the equivalent slow cast speed warlock curses have?

Can you please stop designing raid bosses that require at least TWO DK tanks to make them easier? suggestion are:

  • give DK dps aoe grip
  • give havoc demon hunter chain sigil
  • give vengeance demon hunter a better chain sigil in terms of both cooldown and range.
  • give druid tank asuper vortex that act like a grip.

Something they used to have, but was made Blood-only in Legion. That was a mistake.

Definitely agree on the visual clarity of swirls. It’s especially bad when you may have a large healing absorb but also have swirls doing 4 million damage that are spam casted on vat transitions.

I feel particularly bad for melee when they are around that G’huun lookalike and swirls are hidden by that Jabba tail.

Yeah I thought about mentioning this. Want to keep the crabs near the maggot, but the maggot has to be moved around a lot and likes to swing his tail right on top of me when the swirlies go out, and I can’t see a thing anymore because the maggot’s parking on top of them.

(This is a recurring thing, like when Razsageth would move her wings around to block your vision when the lightning strike swirlies happened.)

They need to stop making mechanics at all that don’t have defined edges.

The spider frontals at the beginning of ara Kara have no defined edges and you will 100% look like you’re well out of it by a couple character models and get hit.

It’s not that bad visually. It’s moreso that the lag on this fight is insane, only superseded by Queen Ansurek.

It wouldn’t be so bad if I could run 90 FPS stable like in Amirdrassil.

You’re supposed to bait the swirlies out before going on the eggs as they target people and your circle need to touch the center of the eggs breaking and moving last second can lead to not hitting anything.
I hate swirlies too and the boss hitbox could be a bit better to help melees.
I think giving dk dps aoe grip would be nice, other options would warrant giving dks a raid buff which they don’t seem to be willing too.
