Would Mythic raiders stop raiding if the skin dropped off all difficulties? Nope. Would LFR/normal participation drop if the skin only dropped off Mythic? Possibly.
So I don’t understand why Blizz institute this change.
This is probably the best point anyone has made yet.
True, I´d like to know the % of the % mythic raiders that actually care about cosmetics, because there´s a lot of those players that only care about the kills and then selling those cosmetics.
Every small bit helps when you mythic raid, but sure this isn’t a decision to please the mass. And it doesn’t need to be.
All raid difficulties will have access to the upgrade system for gear and heroic Aotc will give a one time piece of tier. All of those arguably for the average players will be bigger than something cosmetic.
You just mentioned the one thing I said made it difficult for people to do it. Finding 20 ppl to raid with on a specific schedule every week? Why do you think mythic raiding pariticipation is so low?
Did you even read what I posted or you are just trying to be snarky for the sake of being snarky?
surely with the tens of thousands of players who are all in this situation, it would be possible to find 19 others to join with you?
Snarky it is, gotcha, have a good one.
No. Either get into a group that will progress up to mythic or do it when it’s no longer relevant. There’s nothing wrong with locking loot to a specific difficulty. Now if they were to actually remove it after it’s no longer relevant content, then that would be an actual problem since FOMO is dumb.
you didn’t address my point at all. the fact that i’m being snarky doesn’t mean i’m wrong.
Watching the first normal Sarkareth comes in with groups of 30 or so. No drops, as far as I can discern. The outrage is warranted. It’s such a shame that Blizzard started strong with Dragonflight, but seems to be regressing into old mentalities.
totally. i should get everything i want without having to put any effort in. i pay my $15 so give me everything now. if it’s not in my mailbox when i log in, i quit
I honestly don’t care about the mount. This is the annoying bit:
They interrogated and improved so many of their traditional mentalities. That resulted in an iteration of the game that is better than it has been for well over a decade. Yet, they choose to backslide in little ways like this. No one cares about one bee sting, but when it’s the first of an incoming swarm? You’d best react.
if i ask somebody to make 100 changes and they make 99 of them, it seems weird for my response to be “typical, they’re stuck in the old ways, nothing ever changes around here”
Not to patronize Blizzard as an entity, but it’s more akin to if a teacher finally sees improvement in one of their students, but starts to see them slip into old habits. You better believe they should call attention to it and discuss issue to keep them on the right track.
Reductio ad absurdum does you no favours.
This is honestly a big issue nowadays. Mythic raid teams are falling apart and becoming less and less. Bosses become more difficult and the same quality gear can be gotten from way easier content (+20 keys) so what’s the point of even doing a mythic raid?
A drake skin from the last boss on mythic is definitly not going to motivate anyone to sit through the pain of
- Applying for a mythic guild (maybe even buying a transfer)
- Getting one out of 20 raid spots (non meta class? Rip)
- Progressing mythic with 100s of wipes per boss before you even kill it once (yikes)
- And it probably only drops 1 or 2 manuscripts, too, just to make it even worse!
More to the point, it was an actual talking point in guild chat about the Raszageth dropping the skin on any difficulty. Many people were surprised, but pleasantly so. To reverse course on this practice the next tier is undoubtedly going to be another talking point.
I’m still going through with unsubscribing, I guess. That isn’t something I wanted to do, since I was looking forward to this patch and this raid. But the best way to give feedback is by voting with one’s wallet.
I’m cool with games having super rare rewards that aren’t for everyone, but I think too much in WoW is locked behind raids.
Would be neat if there was some sort of really rare pvp weapon customization to make it look like blood dripping off of your blade… or you leave bloody footprints behind, or something.
