Mythic+ Master key?

Hello all, and hopefully someone in blizz.
What do you guys think about making a Mythic+ Master key?
Basically giving a key that will work on any dungeon, the difficulty number could stay the same, but it can choose any M+ of your choosing.
Can make it a similar achievement to finishing +15 in all dungeons, showing you already cleared the content, and now you don’t have to hunt a M+ in group finder or hope for a good key in your chest.

I thought it’d be an awesome addition as the KSM reward. Not just any dungeon, but key that would track your dungeon levels and let you literally just pick the dungeon level you wanted to go to. So if you’d already completed a +18 workshop in time, it’d let you choose up to a +19. And so on.

As once you’re past +15… you’re not really doing it for the gear anymore. You’re pushing to go as far as you can. I’d even be fine with them putting in something like making the dungeon not drop loot if you used the master key.

Personally, I’m all for it. I really hate having which dungeon my group can run be up to RNG.

i like the idea but i think the pushback against it would be along the lines of “if you can pick any dungeon you’ll just take the path of least resistance”, which, halfway valid if you ignore the fact that people don’t even try to push keys unless it’s a fortified week anyway

which is why i suggested to make it an achievement based item, such as clearing all dungeons on +15.
So you still need to do work so you can have an easy time later.
Heck can make it a +18 clear achievement for the higher end players too. possibilities are endless in how to acquire it

Ya, but I’d say, so what? People do that anyway. They’re just forced to run crappy keys until they can finally get their key to be a good one to actually push on. And once you’re past +15… it’s not like you’re doing it for gear anymore anyway.

yep. I definitely agree, but players being able to choose the easiest push dungeon would mean that blizzard would have to try much harder to keep them all balanced within reason. No choice in the keystone you get means they don’t have to work as hard at the end of the day and I think we both know blizzard doesn’t like balancing things correctly

I mean honestly… I’d still say who cares. The system is an infinitely scaling system. Eventually even “easy” dungeons become brutal.

This.

I’m not doing dungeons often rn since I’m enjoying battlegrounds more, but one of the reasons I’m not pushing is because the key rerolling is annoying. If I want to work on x or y dungeon, I want to work on x or y dungeon. Hoping somebody has a key is getting old, and spamming keys just to get the one I want is a waste of time since I already got my mount.

Like, yeah, getting higher IO overall is nice, but it’s not fun.

Once you’re past the point of reward, we should be allowed to work on what we enjoy for the competitive aspect.

True, some dungeons are always easier than others every week, but given that is the case, people are already technically sniping certain dugeons.
This way it will give Blizz more data as well on which dungeons are easier and why, which can help them balance them better in the future.

they already have access to stats on which dungeons are being cleared, which are being depleted and which are being avoided altogether. They can make tuning changes, they just don’t.

uh what do you mean don’t? They did lots of tuning passes on dungeons throughout bfa.

what I mean is they might not tune things on the spot, but they can get a better idea of what dungeon everyone enjoys to run, not all dungeons are fun but some dungeons are just easier, would ppl choose easy over fun? mix of both?
will everyone run just the same dungeon each week etc.
I think there would be value in such data for future dungeon creations and tuning as well as the players would be enjoying doing what they enjoy doing.
Personally I hate all dungeons atm except AD KR and SotS, and they are not ALWAYS the easiest dungeons, but i still prefer to do them.
If i just need a +15 done that week I’d do whichever and not do any more dungeons that week, but if i could choose a dungeon I’d be more likely to keep playing it get rly good at one and then try another one and get rly good on that one too etc.

i like this idea… The amount of TD keys I got last week :face_vomiting:
