Mythic lockout

Mythic lockouts should be boss specific. Im not asking for a lockout similar to hc/n. While in theory my suggestion is similar to those its different in 1 way. You can only kill a boss on a character once per week. Not loot it once per week but kill it overand over as in heroic or normal. But kill it once. This, imo would massively help guilds who struggle with roster boss. People would sign up for sennarth prog for example if they knew they could go back and kill the first 2 or 3 bosses later in the week. Or if your guild is extending lockouts like a lot of guilds do later in a tier you can individually go back and clear the first several bosses before or qfter raid. I dont see a downside to this at all.

This sounds like it could be neat, but I have no idea how it would work.

Say you already killed Council and you’re joining a fresh run (fresh for the other 19) for Eranog.

Once Eranog is dead, and the raid moves to council, would council somehow be dead on your screen and alive on everyone else’s screen?

wouldn’t you be able to sell kills easier?

That obviously wouldnt work but you could get some debuff that kills you immediately if you enter combat with a boss you already killed.

So you can still be there but no loot and no participation in the fight.

It absolutely would work. You cant say it wont work without explaining why. and yes if you killed council already but then went back in and killed eranog you would have to leave for council.

Their point is to question you on the details of HOW it would work to determine WHETHER it would work.

How would the game prevent you from participating in the fight? Is the boss simply despawned because you’re there, and will only spawn back in once you leave? Are you being phased out when you get to a fight that you’re not allowed to participate in? Are you getting a debuff that kills you if you go anywhere near the boss’ room?

There are downsides to all of those options.

That’s kinda the reason why per-boss lockouts work on a “You can only loot once” level, because that’s an easier flag to turn off, and doesn’t particularly disrupt the raid, therefore actually allows players to freely jump from raid to raid if need be.

What is the point of this system?

The heroic lockout system works fine.

Want to talk about disrupting a raid? What about the people that try to join your raid but cant because they killed the first 2 bosses already and even though youre on the 3rd boss they still cant join because they didnt kill thebl first 2 with you. Or how about the fact that its impossible to pug someone early in the week for say boss 4 or 5 because just them joining your raid locks them out of going back to kill those later. Most guilds pushing ce at this point are extending lockouts, unless they are on raz and have 3 brood kills, the. They are fariming era, skip, then brood specificallyfor the rings. Everything you mentioned as a disruption to the raid pales in comparison to the current disruptions with the current system.

I think phasing you so you cant see the boss is probably the most viable solution.

It should never be a heroic type lockout where you can go in and kill bosses over and over but are only locked for loot. That would create a major problem for boosting. Especially when mounts are involved.
But the current mythic lockout system is broken.
Even if they made it so you could join another group on say third boss after youve killed the first 2 would be an improvement. Being locked to the same lockout as 19 other people is just toxic. Lets not get started on the people that hold lockouts hostage from guilds because they got sat or removed because they were only needed for a specific boss. I coild go on.
