I know this has been talked about before but I’m going to express my frustration with mythic level raids lockout system.
First off, I love what Blizz has been doing. I’m having a great time and I truly enjoy the game. I’m in a great guild with some great players and we get AOTC pretty easily but we sometimes have to pug one or two players towards the end of the expansion when people have gotten their AOTC and ghost waiting for the next expansion.
If AOTC was the end I wouldn’t have a problem with that. However, most of the core group want to do mythic content but because of the lockout after the first two bosses no one will pug with us. And because we need a pugs to practice we can’t get any better at the mechanics.
This is especially frustrating because some of our best players have considered leaving if we can’t get a full rooster on raid days.
Before you tear my concerns apart and tell me to “Get Gud” and join a mythic raiding guild - know that I love my guild and I want to stay raiding with them - because they are funny, entertaining and overall cool people. So quitting and joining a mythic raiding group is not something I want to do.
And if you say “recruit more players”. We’ve been doing that - several that we geared didn’t stay, some couldn’t cut mythic level raiding because of skill or time restraints. We just always seem a couple short. It would be far easier to pug someone who by their raiderio has already shown that they have the skill level, experience and knowledge base to perform.
I understand mythic raiding is hard and the mechanics need precision and dedication to master but toward the end of the expansion when everyone is wearing BIS because of buillions and max level crafted gear maybe we could drop the lockout?
The big raiding guilds could keep the first three season wins - so they have their status and the rest of us could get a chance to experience the mechanics of mythic level raid. We may not be successful - in fact its likely we won’t but without the lockout we could have a chance.
