Mythic + leaving punishment idea

Hello everyone!

I think i speak for all of us when i say its not fun to do a mythic+ and have someone leave midway though cause its not going their way.

There needs to be a punishment system to prevent this behavior and wasting peoples time

My idea: When you are the first person to leave a group after a mythic timer has started you should get a counter OTHER players can see when you sign up for M+ sort of like the mythic score system. next to it or something of the sort. Thats shows how many keys you have left. to prevent overstacking of the number it would reset every month or so.

Now to combat some of the comments some people may have
Examples: Overwatch punishes you for internet disconnects even so dont que with shaky internet?
example 2: if you dont have the time to do a m+ dungeon dont sign up for one.
example 3: punished for power outage? Refer to example 1.

I think this system would make people MORE willing to stay in mythic + keys as there is no accountability for leaving them PLEASE blizzard do something about this its very frustrating.

While we’re to it, can we silence the players that complain about this issue? I think it’d be beneficial to the WOW community.

It’s ridiculous that people complain about an issue that is ever so trivial. You cannot hold people, hostage, in a mythic+ key, I understand this is a frustrating issue but this is why you need to find friends/guild members that you can rely on and who are willing to stay in the key full-time.

If you sign up to a key thats timed you AGREED to do the key. its not hostage taking its simple etiquette to not ruin 30+ minutes of a run AND someone’s key they grinded up.
I agree, the amout of times its been brought up is really high. buts its not for no reason?

Yes, but if the party is being stupid they have every right to leave. If you don’t want people leaving then do it with friends, and you need to understand what you’re getting into when you do PUGS, do background research, check their IO, whatever.

If you run into leavers frequently enough to be a problem then you are likely the problem. Stop trying to come up with “solutions” that will only become exploited and cause people to hold up groups hostage to avoid “punishments”.

You know what’s wasting people’s time and resources? Players who join keys they are not ready for. The ones who have no interrupts, doesn’t use utilities or defensives, the ones who do less DPS than the tank. Maybe they need the punishments for causing groups to be miserable.

How is it my fault for example. When a dps with 1300 IO score stands in a easy mechanic for the 3rd time and leaves when someone suggests they move? im not the common denominator when you do keys as your MAIN content you tend to run into these people 1/5 keys or so at higher levels.

Exactly, I hardly ever have people leave my keys. If you know what you’re looking for when it comes to people, then it should be easy. That and Sosari is correct, you are most likely the problem.

Let’s discuss your DPS first of all, how is it?

im a tank, and i frequently do more DPS then the DPS lol

Doesn’t happen. Can you make up more stories?

im glad in your experience it doesn’t happen. but im just unlucky then? reguardless it isnt about me its about the community who goes though it. happens to everyone clearly since there are so many posts about it.

Problem #1. You are weighing someone’s ability by week 1.1 of the season. Score means almost nothing right now.

No, this isn’t the RNG machine. There’s a reason things like this happen frequently to only certain players and not others.

most players who are considered “unskilled” cant even get to +10s atm so their score will reflect that? The issue is most players who tend to leave are the elitists who will leave the moment for example, they die to a mechanic they could have avoided and simply blame the healer? Come on its pure intellectual dishonestly to say “im the problem” you have 100% seen this behavior.

No thanks.

I leave when the key isn’t going to be timed or if I feel like it.

This has nothing to do with luck, this has to do with how you tackle a dungeon.

That’s false. If you were playing the same game I have, many players are getting full on carried, unintentionally into keys. This is possible in low keys like +10s more easily than high keys.

I have actually had 0 rage quits this expansion. Groups have fallen apart, but they have all been mutual.

Here’s an alternative idea that doesn’t require any systemic change. Talk to the people you invite and find out why they want to join your group and what they’re expecting. If their expectations are similar to yours, your group will probably stay together.

No, you AGREE to join the group and stay for as long as you’re having fun. Everyone has a different limit for when something is or is not fun, and you don’t get to decide that for anyone else. Some people stop having fun if the group wipes. Don’t invite them if you’ll be upset if they leave after a wipe. Some people stop having fun when they’re not going to time the key. Don’t invite them if you’re intention is to finish either way. You can’t assume that everyone wants to play the way you do. You need to communicate with people and find out if their goals align with yours.

So you’re the problem? “when you FEEL like it” so what? one simple mistake maken by someone youre out? typical.

No Asrena. Just stop, this discussion has already happened over a hundred times and you’re wrong 100% for suggesting such a terrible system.

Yeah, I’m allowed to leave in a game whenever I feel like it i.e. when the group is terrible. After all, I payed for the game and the time and I have every right to leave at any given moment for any given reason. You on the other hand have no right telling players what they can or can’t do with their time.

People like you trying to force others to waste game time is a problem.

Maybe you should play better and people won’t leave your keys.

Thank you! That and you should look at their past key history.

The players who hang out in Dungeons, Raids, and Scenarios actually like to play the game. The sub-thread you are looking for is General Discussion where all the trolls are.
