He can be "two manned" if one of you immediately jumps off the cliff and dies after tapping him before he casts the death debuff. Semantics I know, but eh.
You don't have to do all that.
Just have the second person stay up the stairs and out of the room.
That's how I always duo it. You both even still get loot.
