Mythic + Healers on strike this week...game needs to change

When healers just avoid M+ because it’s not fun… the game dynamic has to change. This is absolutely insane for 2 days into this week and the healer queue is dry as ever. Blizzard please take note and fix affixes because this is a waste of all our times. We just wanna game!

On the plus side, its been easy for me to start grinding rating!

I think grevious and bursting on their own isnt a bad affix. Just linking together is what’s making it feel meh

I’ve seen the same amount of healers as any other week, but everyone’s experience is different.

Maybe they should stop adding difficulty by making the healers life worse.

This week was designed by a Shadow Priest main.

I just keep slappin my buttons until everything’s dead, then I cast MD.

Grievious/Tyrannical seems more of an issue than being combined with bursting.

Pretty much every healer that actually enjoys healing should have this week marked as their favorite.

The carrot on the end of the stick is not juicy enough for healers to spend the extra effort on these weeks.

After 10+ weeks into the season grinding 8x 20’s for a chance at a 421 upgrade is just not worth the time or effort.

Healers that aren’t actively pushing anymore will be 1 and done.

Agree. I only did 1 +15 on my 3 high level characters for vault. On the plus side, this toon got invited to a 15 pug with my low score (my main is 2k io but I never did much on this toon) - we timed it, so while annoying, it isn’t impossible

You’d probably get more healers who want to join your groups if you stopped rolling 6 stacks of bursting every pull.

I’m not on strike, I’m just lazy!

I’ll be playing a bit tomorrow.

Affixes aren’t bad. Players need to help the healers. But no one helps the healers until you get into the 21+ range. The 16-20 range is so unfun to play as a healer because I feel like I’m doing everything except tanking.

For clarity, when I say “affixes aren’t bad” I mean they imply some sort of mechanical change to many dungeons, which fits the design goal. However, they are not fun, and the primary reason is because players have decided virtually everything is a “healer problem” and bad players use this as an excuse to stay bad.

If I say help, I need help. I will happily triage and prioritize a lower performing if they are doing mechanics to the benefit of the group. Your kill count on Explosives is directly related to the healing priority. If you stop DPS to stop Bursting from refreshing, I will literally dispel you first.

Using defensive cooldowns especially is such a foreign concept to a lot of players I run into in M+ that I think they must genuinely not pay any attention to the damage going out in dungeons until they look up and go, “Oh, I died.”

I haven’t been running 16-20s, more like 8-12s, but I track these things and it really does amaze me how many people never use their defensives. Demon Hunters don’t use Blur (2 minute cooldown), Druids don’t use Barkskin (1 minute cooldown), Rogues won’t even use Feint (15 second cooldown) a single time in an entire dungeon. They could have hit these buttons 10 or 20 times! And they didn’t find a single situation where they thought it would be useful. It just boggles my mind.

Mages have alter time on a 50 second CD,

You can essentially ignore bursting affixes every single/other pack if you use it properly.

Straight up had to deal with this earlier today. :frowning:

I ran a few earlier tonight on my prevoker, it’s really not that bad. Shadow priest can single handedly nullify an entire mechanic, and greivous just isn’t that scary.

Edit: I will add that they were baby keys, but they were with a bunch of people gearing up new characters.

It’s simply because as I’ve said time and again and of course DPS says I have no idea what I’m talking about. As a healer there’s a few issues with Mythics I hate… one, in the old days, you didn’t have to play a different healing style in heroics and the VERY first mytics…
You had a build and you carried everywhere. It was your player. it was your style, and even though you might have a very similar build you could play your character a little different. Like in heroics everyone played as a team. It was steldom you ran into people that insisted the Run be done at top speed and most people kicked them. Secondly while support healers were not a thing, but support players where. I great Trap hunter with a decent Sap rouge or even a really good Shaman and wizard could pick up those mobs that could 2 shot most people and three shot for sure… but they didnt’ let that happen.
Rift was probably the best game Ive ever played with support roles. They where needed and everyone of the 4 main Classes could put souls together to do decent dps with decent off healing. it was truly a great addition and I always wish Wow with it’s over abundant specs would have picked it up. Id much rather Mythics gotten harder and needed more CC with the Support roles and taken my time to have a loot table drop from the boss and know you could work on updates… I enjoy it now in WOTLK. especially on my alt. Dragonflight still hasn’t gotten that.
Maybe if WOW 2 ever hits they will look into it. maybe even adding more Ten mans like the older game had with a bit more need for building support/heal and maybe support/shielding PBAE to mitigate more attacks etc. shamans always had a nice base build for it with totems and it could be expanded… Maybe even look into a bit of the DnD or EQ class styles for support but honestly DAOC had the best. but I’d enjoy not having to change my play style for every dungeon style I play… Changing builds over and over isn’t much RP and Id like to see the game get a bit more back into your avatar being a rep of you ingame… I quit Mythics just because of it in DF . Even love to get a much more steampuke sttyle in the future… maybe and engineer class that sets up turrets, archers to shoot arrows with Healing and maybe adrenalin needles on them that could buff as well as give a boost to stamina recovery so warriors could have boost to get off more moves at times besides there own self buffs. etc…

Everyone will flame me know but just by 2 cents worth of opinion.

Changing loadouts on a dungeon to dungeon basis is one of the coolest things they’ve ever added. If you’re worried about how that fits an RP narrative just say something like you’re bringing different tools to support the party. Being a knowledgeable adventurer hasto have it’s niche somewhere.

Edit: I also recommend you try to format your post a bit, it’s a bit tough to read on mobile.

I’ve run 2 9s and a 12 on my Evoker so far, and I think Grievous is fairly easy to manage. At least at these key levels. You can just keep Reversions rolling on everybody and that goes a long way towards dealing with Grievous. TA, Reversions, and a rank 1 Dream Breath give you the sustained rotation healing that you want for a lot of Grievous situations.

I dont think all Healers avoid this week. The Soft ones avoid this week. Take note of their names if you can find it especially those with KSM title. Remind them KSM stands for Keystone Master not Keystone Cowards.

How come I cant see any thread about Healers being asked to DPS especially on Grievous week? ROFL. Hey Healers, this is the week you are not asked to DPS… all you gotta do is Heal, Heal and Heal.

I know Grievous-Bursting is a bad week for most Healers. Bad week is being cycled to all specs/classes. It so happened it’s bad for you this week. Cheer up, next week is a faceroll. And you could be asked to DPS again. ROFL.

My worst week combo is Explosives-Bursting. It’s like I want to nuke and kill all the mobs so the orbs stops popping and I have to put brakes on my AoE nuke button at later stage of my DPS rotation becoz I have to make sure mobs wont die all at the same time. But it’s not that bad. As long as I have the right group combo who are paying attention with the affixes, it should be fine.

I remember at start I was struggling on M+ becoz I was not familiar with my defensive buttons. I was dying and I havent used all my Defensives yet. I took note of it… death on me is not acceptable if I havent used all my Defensives. And my game improved. Just to let Healers know, if I still died after using all my Defensives while dodging damages, it’s on you. Grievous week is my worst and I really pop out all my defensives for my Hunter including the Aspect of Zero DPS Turtle.

I remember in SHadowlands when I was still learning M+ and first experienced Grievous. There is a food buff that heals you every few seconds instead of giving you a DPS stats. Is this still a thing today in DF? I dunno. It’s just I am familiar with such food becoz I am a Panda always looking for double stats on food buff. On DF, I dont think I bought a recipe to make those… It doesnt matter, I have a Feast. As long as I dont die and lose my double stats buff, I should be okay.
