Are there any old player base characters left that pass on rolling if they do not actually need an item? If they had left LFR the way it was set up for personal loot It would be a better loss than a Mythic geared character rolling need and winning. I have certainly seen many players asking to revert back to personal loot in LFR. It serves the purpose better.
LFR is for collecting mog.
There was nothing stopping that M+ geared player from getting gear in personal loot too. Heck, I used to run LFR for transmog before for that very reason, though now I just use the catalyst on catchup gear later for the appearances.
Anyway, returning to the point. Basically the need rolls are just public now. Before everyone need rolled automatically and it just threw the gear at the head of whoever won. If it were still personal loot there is a chance the exact same scenario of them gaining an item and you gaining nothing would have still played out.
Chances are they are needing because they want the lfr transmog set. They way I see it they contributed to the lfr kill and can roll whatever they want. They don’t owe gear to anyone else. I’m fine with it, I run lfr for flightstones and mogs. Last season I did heroic or normal and got tier early on when people needed tier sets bad, I was like highest bid gets it! I got six figures because that was before they increased tier drop rates and it was harder to get
guy did his part which is most likely dps tank or heal. and gets to roll for stuff cuz he wants mog. quit your crying
Gear upgrades are temporary. Transmog is forever.
Don’t hate the player hate the game
To be honest swapping loot specs in-between pulls has been along haha
I do that, why would I not give myself the chance at off spec loot? It would be silly not to. Pug life
This comes up all the time, and – even though people will say “Don’t run a spec you like in M+ 20’s and up, because the group expects you to play min/max”, they will also say “Too bad, Blizzard let’s us roll need on transmogs even though there is a transmog roll”.
It’s the same story every time.
I don’t, but I also don’t OCD collect mogs.
If players want loot to be more controlled on who “deserves” it in their pugs ask for masterloot back.
Yeah, because everyone was SUPER respectful and honorable back in the day. Nobody ninja looted back in Vanilla guys!
Ninjas often got called out in trade or on the forums and got blacklisted.
Yep, and a gear upgrade actually gets you both.
Then they just rerolled or moved servers, or complained abotu it so we have the mess we have now.
Maybe we would not have the issues we have today if that were true. A fair amount did ninja loot back in the day, but there were those of us, myself included, that never intentionally did so.
Yea, I mean those were definitely options, but they either cost money or significant time. If we had the Battle Tag back then with visibility, it would’ve been nice.
Sorry, genuinely don’t understand the logic on this. Can you elaborate how these two things are the same?
why? then you’d just be here whining that some mythic geared player wouldn’t trade you the loot they won.
This again, good grief.
I always roll need.
(Disenchant sound)

I pass on stuff I don’t want. But if it’s trinkets, rings, necks… those can be better than higher ilevel. Same with needing tier for that slot to get the 4 set bonus. So that Mythic geared player may be after something they actually need.

If they had left LFR the way it was set up for personal loot It would be a better loss than a Mythic geared character rolling need and winning.
It would be exactly the same: Mythic geared wins roll you didn’t see and doesn’t trade after being harassed by nasty whispers.

It serves the purpose better.
No it doesn’t.

LFR is for collecting mog.
I never understood why people waste their time trying to get mogs from LFR now, when world events are an easier way to get tier mogs and you can get both LFR and Normal from them.
