Mythic + Dungeons (the reality)

Some of you really need a hard reality check. So much toxicity in dungeon pug groups, people are rude, flame others, leave on first wipes. Allow me to shed some light from an average players perspective.

It does not matter how “good” or how high the rating is of people you invite to your keys, if you can’t play the mechanics, if you don’t know how to use personal defensives, if you don’t know who/how to interrupt, your keys are not going to go well. I think people have some seriously misguided expectations on how higher keys are supposed to be.

I promise you, as a healer, my job is 10 times harder in +6 pugs then with my friends in 10s-11s atm. Reality is, when you have a group of coordinated players with a good CC chain, communication, and everyone using their toolkits, these keys are a breeze.

Stop playing the blame game, and do some self reflection, ALSO please understand it does not matter how high the score if of your team, if no one rotates defensives and interrupts, and takes unnecessary damage, its a WIPE!!

What’s even crazier is all you DPS sitting in queue for an hour trying to get invited to a group, are probably one of the biggest reasons so few healers and tanks want to play. I ask myself every night why would I want to queue into a nightmare scenario and get treated like crap when I can just wait for my team/friends to log on and have a good time pushing keys.

Start being a little more chill, learn your class properly, research the dungeons, and take a chill pill. I also think its incredibly selfish for people who have no experience or understanding of a dungeon queue into people’s keys hoping to get carried. There are literally hundreds of guides on Youtube, no more then 10 minutes long on each dungeon. Take 10 mins and watch it please.

Other then that, hope everyone is having fun. Overall 9/10 patch for me

So your solution to toxcity is to come in here and call everyone toxic.

GG OP, that’ll do it!

Augs in m+25s last xpac: “So what does this boss do?”

Nah, the reason so few people want to play tank or healer is because most people find DPS to be the most fun role. That’s not just a wow thing. Before OW died the majority of players preferred DPS. That’s just the role most people enjoy. It has nothing to do with bad DPS players.

I never once called anyone toxic, I referenced the experience as toxic.

Your comment proves my point exactly which makes you part of the problem.

Okay then.

I would potentially agree with tanking, but completely disagree with healing. Healing is challenging and incredibly fun. I also truly feel it’s made me a better player overall. I think many people are afraid to try healing but would realize if they put any time into it, it can be incredibly rewarding.

Being a healbot is not an attractive player fantasy.

Good point. Of course there is an alternative, Follower Dungeons. I haven’t been kicked from one once nor have I ever seen anyone leave. In fact I’ve fallen asleep and woke up a few minutes later to find my followers standing around waiting for me.

I agree but maybe this is because I’m a DPS player who only heals because I was tired of watching my character die slowly after waiting 30 mins for a healer to sign up.

I really want all healers and tanks to be extremely good and easy so I can just play my hunter again without waiting so long to do anything. I guess it’ll get a little better now that Aug is not required, which used to leave only 2/5 real DPS spots and 3/5 job spots.

I dunno I mained rogue for BC, Wrath and Cata, then was DH and Shadow Priest for Legion, and since I came back this expansion I wanted to try healing for the first time and I dont think ive ever been this fulfilled in this game.

I think it’s incredibly fun and rewarding and don’t see myself playing DPS again. I genuinely think more should try it.

Not for nothing to add fuel to the fire, I despise and back out of a M+ queue whenever I see the following realms as any role:

Azralon
Ragnaros
Quel’Thalas
Drakkari

They are notorious to leave/brick keys if things don’t go their way. They speak a different language no one understand in chat, the language barrier conflicts team coordination. It’s mostly them blabbering out gibberish you can’t even understand then they leave the group. If there’s more than one of them from the same realm in a M+ group, they usually leave in pairs because who cares if it’s not their key right. It may be someone else’s key or your key but they don’t care. Any player from any server can leave a key because they can which demoralizes any integrity Mythic Plus has.

I can’t speak for all, but those people from those servers I’ve mentioned make up the majority of players that just leave keys. It’s one of the main reasons why to include what OP is experiencing people tend to wait until their friends or guildmates come online to push keys with.

You always roll the dice with PUGs to include leavers while with friends or guildmates, the integrity of your key being completed is much higher.

and it didnt take long for someone to make an over-generalization borderline-racist post about Latin American servers…how predictable

I quoted just a piece of your post but honestly you nailed the topic. I agree with everything you said. I have yet to do a single pug this season and doubt I’ll do any.

M+ is about execution. Tunneling mobs and staring at the meter is what LFR and LFD are for. How about hitting a defensive once on a while?

In m+ If you stand in the bad and you miss interrupts you will die. You will fail.

I enjoy the healing role a lot. However, healing stupid is never fun.

Your bottom line is exactly right. It’s a dps issue.

Speaking truth even if it’s from the players perspective does not making it racist. Racism is hatred towards a group of people. Voicing shortcomings in people’s skills is not racism. I agree my experience playing with certain demographics during earlier times in the day has not been positive.

Stop labelling people’s personal opinions based on their personal experiences as racism.

The fact you think it has to do with race speaks volumes. All throughout DF Season 4, MAJOIRTY of leavers from keys I’ve ran to include attaining KSM were from Ragnaros and Azralon. Scrub the forums, you’ll see plenty of M+ topics that also call out those servers I’ve mentioned that are notorious for leaving keys.

Exactly, I don’t understand what people think they will accomplish with 2500+ uncoordinated players in a +11 or +12.

I bricked my Mechagon 10 last night trying to pug it, everyone was 2600+, and my friends and I later in the night timed a 10 easily and the average player rating was 2200. People think the shinny orange number means success but it doesn’t if everyone is uncoordinated.

one of the things I kinda wish they’d do (only because pugs/un-comm’d people outnumber coordinated groups) is to shorten the CD on an interrupt when it’s overlapped or wasted.
Maybe this could be a temporary buff in keys? I dunno.

I’ve had nothing but good luck with players from those realms. The biggest sign of a leaver or key bricker for me is the lower geared alt of a high IO main. Those are the players that expect no mistakes and will leave at the first sign of trouble. They don’t want to struggle through a key even if it’s timed. They want a quick efficient run or they’re out.

Eh, there some fun games that delivers but that’s obviously subjective.

What I love about Holy is the fact I have two cheat deaths among other things lol.
