Mythic+ culture is extremely toxic. Here’s why

It can still be run as the original. 3 groups in groupfinder doing it now.

Cant you just…not do wqs that give gear rewards?

Pugging pretty much only depends on your io score, of which you have none

Was definitely not needed :joy: it needed to be made into a key because if it didn’t it would have become trivial content and no one would have done it. It was also the most excruciatingly boring thing to do in game…

op mech was challenging assuming you weren’t getting gear from mythic+ and raids to make it easier. you have one end game. why can’t we have our own? use it as a stepping stone for your stuff but don’t just say we can’t have it because you’ll go through it’s usefulness more quickly than others will.

who is “we”?

what am i saying you cant have?

Because Mythic+ was built around the inclusion of a timer. Not only that, but for people like myself who used to do a lot of raiding but no longer always have time, it’s really nice to have challenging content with good rewards that can be done in 30 or 45 minutes.

And the timer is really only about progression and leveling keys. If you fail the timer, you still get loot and you still get your weekly chest, you just won’t upgrade to a higher key level.

So go ahead and ignore the timer if you want, that option exists already. But removing it isn’t a good idea.

That being said, I do agree with you about how frustrating it can be when people run through leveling dungeons/heroics with the same kind of “go go go” approach. I don’t personally struggle to keep up, but I get really frustrated when I see new/less experienced players getting left behind and lost while the tank and DPS just charge on ahead.

How are you “progressing” through normal and heroic dungeons? A fresh boosted toon could smash them, and is 20 or so ilvls below the loot dropped

really? so all of the mythic raiders that cry non stop about having to do one +15 dungeon a week because it hurts their feelings they can’t just raid log and you’re telling someone to not do a core part of the game because they want to be rewarded appropriately for the content they have the skill to do? god forbid you actually want to do content in this game.

I really am not sure what you are trying to say.

You said you wanted to gear up through heroic dungeons instead of WQs. I said. Ok. Why can’t you?

There are WQs available that don’t give gear. You basically have to target the ones that do. Most WQs don’t.

So you can still do the WQ content.

i am not good at the game. i have fun doing normal and heroic dungeons and they are a challenge to me at the beginning of an expansion. if they didn’t update WQ rewards to be as good as heroic dungeon rewards i would do that grind every time they buff the ilevel to dungeons when they change them around for mythic+.

You could defend anything with that mentality.

If youre not good at the game, then why not just stick to doing your normals and heroics without coming here to bash m+? Literally nothing changes for you if you don’t want it to. I’m sure you could find some like minded players and do it with them. You can’t expect the rest of the playerbase who don’t enjoy doing that content when it’s been trivial for 2 years to want to spend their time planning out cc etc when they could just pull all the way to the boss and be out of the dungeon in 15 minutes

convince blizz to nerf the crap out of WQ rewards so i can progress doing what i want to do and i will not say another word about mythic+ timers. if they allow us to gear the way we want to instead of making anything under mythic 0 level pointless that would be better for a lot of people. i am raid geared right now through WQ and i haven’t had to do anything to earn it. i’d rather have less high ilevel gear i felt like i earned (through doing dungeons and lfr) than being handed raid gear for afking a few WQ.

So I will say this again like I was to that other guy. Go find a guild, make some friends, and have fun doing content.

What better way to enjoy things by finding people that also like BRD dungeons? That won’t flame you because you’re not pulling fast enough?

Go go go go go go go find it.

BC heroics didn’t take hours to do unless you were just bad, sorry.

We are a friendly group and we enjoy competition, helping each other, and so on. Unfortunately, the difficulty associated with mythic+ and learning for upper level mythic+ has generated a drive for people to associate in regular groups to the exclusion of other guild members. Different nights are different groups of 5. And when the evening is done they are freaking whipped. By the time the week is done the heals and tanks are used up. People get excluded.

Sure, when there’s a run up on a new raid that’s come out things open up a bit and there’s a bit of an effort to get people 10s. That happens. But once we’ve killed the final boss of the raid that just kind of dries up a bit and people go back to their regular groups.

I know for a fact, that’s not just our guild. And it pisses people off and sometimes people leave. Do I wish things were different, of course. The reasons for this breakdown in our group are varied. Some of this is asshattery, some of it is chance (I can only get online late), and some of it is there are a few people that have some genuine preferences. There’s some people here who went to gradeschool together.

This mirrors a problem we had in my old guild in BC. The dungeons were what they were. There was more than average CC required, there were wipe spots here and there, and some of them were kind of long. There were preferred classes who had more CC ability and other skills. If you weren’t playing one of those classes or could tank/heal … then chances are … you could get taken along some nights, but in general it sucked. As the week went on, tanks and heals got a bit more and more tired. There’s only so much time in the week.

It’s the same thing with M+, only to a much higher degree because the stakes are much higher. So high in fact that M+ is kind of the game right now … raid by comparison, is a sideshow. And that’s very very bad for WoW.

Uhhhhhhhhhh don’t do world quests that offer gear then?

if blizz put in a weapon that had a million int on it for sale from a vendor for 5g would you use it?

So this is a self control issue?
