I’m sure this has been beatin’ into the ground in the forums, and I know the solution, farm my own keys, which I have started doing.
I just wanted to vent and see if there was anyone else having this issue. I have always done mythic+ dungeons but this season I decided I was going to push and see how far I could go.
I would say I am an above average player and I like to try hard for my own competitiveness but I don’t flame people at all.
I play a Sub Rogue, and for multiple nights I will sit and almost spam apply to groups for just a +10. I am 270ilvl and my mythic score right now is 2100. I should be more than capable of doing this just fine. But I am not a meta spec nor someone with lust so I get declined or picked over. I mean I get it, people want better ilvl or hero or whatever, but damn very frusterating.
Thanks for listening to my tedtalk, I was just curious if this is just happening for every non “meta” spec out there. Makes me want to just invite only non meta specs to my keys from now on lmao.

Your ilevel is fine. It’s just 2100 is kind of low this far into the season and groups are going to be able to choose from a dozen 2700+ for 10s.
This is it really. Just get your 10s done and you’ll be able to join other groups way easier.

270ilvl and 2100 are low in in this current season.
I’m 280ilvl with 3k io and still get declined for 10s or higher.
Am I meta spec? Not really, havoc does good but not as well as dev.
Your best bet is to use a community in game or find a mythic discord to find groups.

I get invited to 10s pretty quick on my sub rogue (280, 3k) and get declined far more often on my devourer (268, 2200). I think it has more to do with ilvl and rating than spec.

But this is what I mean, a +10 is pretty easy, but its because you aren’t a meta spec. To be honest, every spec is decent, but they aren’t meta. Most groups I am in there is a meta spec and i outdps and kick everything. Its crazy to me that people would rather wait 10 minutes to find a devourer DH than to just take a sub rogue.
Yes that ilvl and mythic+ score is on the lower side, but you have to start at 0. I just don’t get much time to play. I have +8’s pretty much across the board, I just don’t get the concept of people being that elitest I guess. Its not like we are doing +15 and higher, its a 10. lol

List your own group. 2100 isn’t even all 10s which it’s never been easier to get all 10s in the history of mythic plus.
People signing up to 10s are like 3k rating who would you invite?
That score is really bad this far into the xpac idk what you expect when people with near 1000 points on you are applying to the same plus 10 keys lol why would they take you?

How do people get their rating higher if people wont take them. Its a silly system imo. I understand not wanting someone to brick your key or have to carry the crap out of someone but damn, I honestly just wish raiderio or the rating just be a personal use thing I guess
My question is, why are people at 3000+ rating queing for +10? Just for vault stuff?

It’s always a supply vs demand issue with DPS, on top of players wanting to maximise success by inviting the “best possible” candidates, regardless of key level. That’s just how people are.
I randomly pick folks for my groups. Some are good. Some not so good.
Sorry OP, that’s just how things work. No one’s going to feel sorry for you because we all go through it. I’d personally rather sit in a queue than constantly be rejected but folks love that control. Gives me the ick staring at the list of names and saying no.
Join a Discord M+ community. Some of them only run amongst themselves, so your competition for spots is somewhat smaller. However, depending on how choosey the key organisers are, you might still run into problems with overly-selective party leads.
I don’t want people to feel sorry, I get that a 2100 is not up to par with most people. I just don’t have time to play everyday ( i would love to, but I have other commitments)
I am just voicing my opinion on how the system is flawed. I get online and would love to push my rating up higher but I have to sit and apply to groups for 30+ minutes until I get annoyed and log off and play WindRose lol
I appreciate the advice for discord groups thats a good idea, I have a guild that is wanting to run keys but most people are raid logging it seems.

Why does everyone think they just because they apply for a key and don’t get invited it is because of “meta specs”
You didn’t get invite boo hoo, move on, apply for another or make your own group.
It has nothing to do with meta spec. With the bonus roll system working the way it does you have a lot of 3k+ rating people doing 10s for a quick clear to use their bonus roll. I mean when I post a 10 for an easy clear and I get a 3200 io tank and 3.3k dps queue up, it’s going to be rough for people at your range.
good news is you can use this to your advantage, use your own 10 and get some crazy good players.

Its because I can see what all is in that group I am applying for and mostly all of them have the meta specs in it.
I have no problem getting in groups as Affli, which is surprising to me. So it’s not meta thing, there is just a lot of people with much higher score.
As you already mentioned, make your own key, can’t be denied from that.
I was genuinely just curious if others were having this issue.
I know the fix is to start my own groups.
It is just a catch22 where to get the rating, you must have the rating. Its just a silly system IMO.
I feel like a good idea would be keep the current system, but allow a queing system to match people based on their rating. Im sure itll have its own flaws but it would help people out

Won’t work, queable stuff is supposed to be unfailable in WoW.
Current system is really good. The problems of the current system are player made, not the system itself.
I did a time walking on my tank alt to level him up. I got three aug evokers for dps. Let’s say my shield bash hit very hard that run.
Queuing mythic wouldn’t work.

I find myself sympathizing less and less for people who post about this.
I pushed my 260 hunter’s key from a +2 up to 10 this weekend and went from basically 0 to 2800 rating just listing +10 and +12 keys. You might have to wait a few minutes to find a tank, but so many experienced and geared players are applying to 10’s right now for vault and rerolls.
It’s trivial work. How someone’s first inclination is to make a forum post is beyond me.
