Blizzard just cannot do mythic plus tuning right, except in dragon flight season 1. Because they have to tune both raid and mythic plus. While in raid you are tuning with full buffs and just based on the pure DPS numbers. In mythic plus it just naturally favors classes that have buffs and great utilities (decurse, depoison, short cd stuns aoe ccs group Drs etc).
So tell me, since the release of mythic plus titles, how many seasons have there been where top Exordia comps don’t have a priest/druid/mage buff? Classes that don’t have great utilities have to pump a hell lot more to compensate that. Ex. Unholy dk right now and destro warlock in shadow lands season 3.
Ideas for blizzard:
use different scalings in m+ and mythic raiding just like pvp vs pve scalings.
Either nerf the overall output of classes that provide buffs, or remove raid buffs just like what you did in legion. Oh god, everyone misses legion.
Nerf certain class utilities, priest vdh mage and druid. You see, every season there are priests, druids and mages in every top keys, not because of their damage output, but because of their utilities.
You’re complaining that priests, druids, and mages are represented every season? It’s not about the buffs they bring in m+, I think you’re missing the bigger picture…that’s 43% of the healing specs, 17% of the tanking specs, 25% of the specs that have lust, and 40% of the specs with battle rez…of course you’re highly likely to see at least one of these classes being meta.
You can hit ksm with any comp at all. This idea that somehow only the meta for the .1% applies to all m+ is dumb. Not to many players are pushing high high keys.
This is just more complaining to hear the sound of your own voice.
DF S1 took a long time to get balanced as well as it was.
As far as M+ goes, this is far and away the best start-of-season balance we’ve ever seen besides maybe DF S2 (and even then, you had SPriest as the most mandatory spec in the game that season even before Aug).
There are genuinely tons of comps doing +17s right now. VDH/Disc/Mage/Unholy/Boomkin’s the best of those but there are a lot of comps, featuring every class in some capacity, that are doing 17s.
If you’re pushing for title, why do you care what balance looks like right now? Pushing for title if you aren’t a literal top M+er is a fool’s errand until the .5 patch of a season because there will be class reworks, tons of balancing, and multiple layers of seasonal borrowed power that’ll crank power levels up further. Last season it was Cyrce’s Circlet; this season it’ll be Corruptions.
