Hi everyone
What’s everyone’s opinion about this new addon people are using in mythic + that reports the dmg you took that was avoidable and how accurate is it?
I did a freehold +12 yesterday and we 1 chested it as a tank but healer complained I was taking ‘20k dmg per second’ and I was bad (I was second highest for that recount).
I was pulling two mobs at once which would explain why I was getting lots of dmg and the affix reduced the healing received?
As a dps I would agree but as a tank is that ok? Like getting hit from something that we didn’t interrupt?
Everyone else were happy and no one said a thing.
It track avoidable damage, basically stuff that you could step out of like patches on the ground, or the turtle shell, etc. It’s not affected by your role.
I love it.
People still don’t interrupt or stand in crap all the time.
I did a 13 temple last night and a warlock was just chillin in sanguine and dying then he says why didn’t you heal me lol. I said why didn’t you move and he said that is not the issue.
Stupidity is all over the place.
I could go one for days of how people just take unnecessary dmg to things when there is no need.
People always want to blame the healer but never want to get better and see why they are taking so much dmg.
Tanks are always gonna take dmg especially if you pull two mobs on fortified.

The addon pulls the damage right out of the combat log, it’s pretty accurate. And it’s avoidable damage, so I think it’s fine to call people out on it.

The only issue with the add on is it doesn’t differentiate from the amount of mistakes you have made vs the total dmg you took. For instance, if you stood in harmless fire 20 times and took 20k dmg vs getting hit by an avoidable tyrannical boss mechanic that hits you for 100k once, you look bad. I hope that makes sense.
Just a side note i really do like to see the numbers privately to keep myself in check, but similar to dps meters, i find it obnoxious To link the results immediately after a dungeon is finished (especially while pugging, and moreso after a timed run) so I wouldn’t take it too much to heart and try to use it to your advantage to improve instead

It’s auto. And I use it as a score card. Goal is to not be on it at all or at the top of the report with least damage. Adds more fun imo.
I was always under the impression that you can toggle that on and off but I haven’t used it in a while so I’m not sure
AFAIK, chat is the only place it displays. Idk, if no one is giving you the riot act, I don’t see why it matters. It isn’t like it’s lying.
If a scripted automated program says its true, then it has to be.
Sorry, Skynet has judged you of being bad and found you guilty.
I do believe that it is statistically very accurate. I just don’t like it because the numbers are up for interpretation. For instance, if you have to run through sanguine to get to the next pack without pulling a pat that would register as failure damage.

You mean like the combat log?
I just don’t understand what your getting at. If that’s the only thing that registers, your final tally will be super low. Goal is to drop it to 0. I’m usually at 200k ish but sometimes it’s 500k or 1M on a rough run. I know when I sucked and I like to know that my healer was distracted over being asleep at the wheel.
It depends. Most ranged dps can’t move (much) without losing dps. So if you stand still and eat the occasional single volcano for dps, that shouldn’t be an issue.
Repeatedly standing in things you could have avoided with no loss or put your life at risk is something else, but the addon can’t tell the difference.
As a healer, sounds like a great addon.

I’m trying to say that I don’t like using the add on in pugs for the reasons that I listed in multiple posts above. I hope that clears it up for you.
Had a run with somebody using an addon like this. But it posted in chat every single time somebody took “fail damage”. When the run was over i ignored them and reported for spamming.
For every useful tool there is people who can’t wait to use it to be an annoying prick.

Pure sarcasm by me btw.

While I do screw up from time to time, others I will just “eat it” since I know healers can keep up or I can self heal out of it.

If you make the timer, I don’t see the point in complaining. Heck, I could care less myself as long as it finishes, but I do put in my best each time.
But yea, seen someone with the addon once, I thought it was goofy.
What is the name of this mod? TIA
I would also like to know the name if anyone has it.
Its a good addon, I don’t use it but I enjoy seeing myself at #1 or #2 least failure.
